He lost his commander so couldn't get life link and double strike. He had to pick there both on 2 diffrent options to pick. Why shadowfax had to be chaos warped to prevent that

@@richardsaunders7157That’s not how it works. Part of casting a spell is declaring modes, players can’t remove the Commander before modes are chosen and once modes are chosen they don’t change even if you lose the Commander before it revolves.

I love watching your games, I was smiling the whole time, and that's what EDH should always be. Keep up the good work. Suggestion: add some outro at the end of the video. Maybe have a quick discussion on what went wrong or have a brief summary. My mouth was still open from laughing at the end but then the video ended. More power to you guys!

Hahaha thanks! We used to do an outro, but YT analytics showed that most people stopped watching once the game ended. So to prevent people clicking out (and affecting watch time), I decided to cut them out. But idk, we might do short ones in the future

No effect on permanent cards are active while the card is on the stack (unless it specifically says so - like "This spell can't be countered". And Reprieve targets the spell before it resolves and ETBs :)

@@mrperfect3399 Nope, this is why understanding the stack is so important - nothing on the stack is in effect until it has resolved. So Sauron is just a spell waiting to go into effect, which Matthew intercepts with the Reprieve, that then resolves before Sauron can get to do so

The spell is still on the stack when reprieve targeted it, so it doesn’t have ward. It will only have ward when it resolves and becomes a permanent on the battlefield.

Doesn't the champter 3 of The Fall of Gil-galad read, that the creature only fights if it died this turn? So Esmond couldn't fight Bill in the first place. 10:10 Didn't have a big impact, but maybe Paul would've reacted differently. Fun fact: Gil-galad was a king of an elven tribe (kingdom) who fought against Sauron. It is the battle that is spoken of in the very first few minutes of the The Fellowship of the Ring (the first movie), where "the last alliance" of elves and humans stood against Sauron. But he fell to Saurons army.

How would a dead creature fight? You only draw 2 cards if the creature dies that turn.

@@VC-ms9iy yeah you're right. I didn't read it correctly. The punctuation makes a big difference. I did read it in one go like it had a comma instead and thought it would fight as a death trigger. But it makes sense that a dead creature can't fight. I imagined it like a revenge swing, but then again why should it fight and not just deal its damage.
