The Lallantop team reached Nagaland to cover upcoming elections on 27th February. Saurabh Dwivedi visited a college hostel and talks with students staying there. Many students who have visited the Northern part of India tell about the problems faced by them. Why do people of Northern India think that Naga people can eat humans? What are the other misconceptions about the people of Nagaland, we will talk about them in this video.

I have an Assamese father and Maharashtrian mother, was born in Pine, educated at Pune, Mumbai, Dhubri, Shillong and Chennai. Due to this I was exposed to our country's diversity quite early but I find that I was blessed and special. Many others have not been exposed to other cultures and so misinformation and biases exist. Thank you Saurabh for covering a very beautiful part of India.

We are full of prejudices that is why when Indian upper caste go abroad and suffer from racism I sometimes don't feel bad. They need a taste of their own medicine. The same people treat drivers and maids like dirt in India. Insulting the Naga people is only the tip of the iceberg. This is why Modi's majoritarian and fascist politics has become a license for upper castes to inflict violence. And not even going to mention the regular raping of women. Definitely they need to be made to feel included and I sincerely hope mind sets of people change .They are wonderfully talented people. Saurabh, while you usually do wonderful work, in this one ( north east) it’s visible that you are making a lot of effort to bring their stories out. Kudos to you! So much of their culture is still very much preserved and that’s good! As a student, my many classmates were from NE. They are very intelligent, fearless, ground to earth, ambitious, natural athletes and very stylish. Never a dull moment when we partied together. Till date I have some great friends form Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal, Tripura and I can’t thank enough for how grateful I’m for having such cool and compassionate friends from NE.

The journalist did a wonderfully job on his part in creating a comfort atmosphere for the students. The children seemed really quite and shy taking their own time to open up. Having completed my schooling from Nagaland, I want more people to come and explore the mesmerizing part of north east India. More people are welcome to this greenery and naturally rich state and give message to other part of the country that all the negavites spread about it are not true.

@@naturelover5449 i think it's also because people atleast acknowledge and have the knowledge of bihari history, culture and that it's integral part of India. The northeast people take the comments calling them "chini, japani, Nepali " sensitively because Some people don't even know northeast states are also part of Indian history and they aren't well known and when they meet them they without asking assume it's not an Indian person and also make racist comments. So they are sad because they are having Identity crisis. Biharis have been a victim of negative stereotyping from media, movies, culture of gundagardi, corruption in Bihar. Real Village people of Bihar are most hardworking and humble people

Main land India is not only rascist but very casteist . And now anti minority and happy to lynch Muslims burn churches and whip dalits like in UNA. The British did not read us wrongly. Even women wrestlers are not safe. Shame Shame
