From metro Detroit and moved to the Soo a couple years back in 2000 and I absolutely loved the whitefish at the Lockview. Living in Colorado now and so miss Michigan and the upper. Chokes me up watching this.
I like to call the UP a magical place...As such I do like the line, " If you're not careful it just might add some meaning to your life".
Wayne Gretzky played in a league in The Soo at age 14. He has stated in many interviews that The Soo weather was much worst than that of Edmonton where he played for years.
There really wasn't much traffic when you were in Sault Ste. Marie on the US side. We have been three times all in crossing into Canada. Sault Ste. Marie in Ontario seems like a bigger town. One trip we went into Ontario to catch a train into rural Ontario which goes straight north and lets people off and on into rural areas not served by roads. Interesting area overall. Both sides will probably grow as the earth warms up!
