    Brilliant reaction. I love it when Tim hits that note and Avi smiles, takes off his beanie and puts on a cowboy hat. Avi dropped a new song yesterday 'All is Well' with Joy Williams. It's beautiful and had me (& others) in tears. I adore HF but there's a special place in my heart for Avi because he touches your soul when he sings. ❤

    Avi had some training with opera while in school and originally was disappointed when his voice continued to deepen. Nearly all of the male leads in operas are tenor parts. He has since found his sweet spot with his current work in folk and country music. Avi is also the co-founder of Acapella Academy where young people can audition to train and learn the craft each year. He is actively involved with the students each year. When auditions opened up this year, I noticed that all the Home Free Guys put links out on Twitter and Instagram for their young fans to apply.

    This was the 2nd song I heard when I discovered Home Free last year. It is done in a reggae calypso beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim & Avi.. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the "Sing Off Show" that Home Free won in 2013 Tim goes even lower on this song "Ring Of Fire" & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. And Adam Rupp once again was stellar in his vocal percussion.

    Oh it's just unbelievable what faces you can make hearing Avi and Tim and their deep bass. Sorry, I couldn't catch up. But I agree with you that these are 2 best bass singers. Both have a great voice, different but can't say who is better, because it is so different. It is true that Avi's voice does affect me. But Tim with his long last note made something vibrate here in the house haha But the best part is that you just see how much fun they all, especially Avi, have in it. But thanks for your nice comment

  • @lrfcowper

    @lrfcowper

    2 жыл бұрын

    Geoff actually uses a different technique than Tim does to go deep. Tim may have worked with Geoff in deepening his chest voice, but Geoff uses a technique called subharmonics to hit his low notes and Tim uses growl or fry, depending. While Tim can do subharmonics and Geoff can do growl and fry, they don't usually. Tim did, however, help Avi on his lower range, according to an interview with PTX. I've not found any article that Tim ever taught Geoff.

    Yeah that last note was something. I think he holds it for 13 seconds. What’s funny is that on the Sing Off he actually goes lower and if you watch the whole thing Nick asks the judges panel if they’ve ever heard anyone sing that low before and they said no except Shawn Stockman mentioned the bass in his group Boyz II Men. I don’t really know Boyz II Men too well so I don’t know if that’s true. But it’s fun to hear them marvel a bit. Avi’s voice is smooth. It’s a good rendition and I loved the reggae sound of it. Good reaction Saucy…you always make me laugh and yes, you could be in trouble if your wife hears Tim!
