@@alexplain I think you have not considered why US is staging itself as a weak nation nowadays in front of Russia. See the real issue is if US gets directly involved, this war WILL BECOME WORLD WAR III. There is high possibility of Nuclear strike from Russia in Ukaraine against US aggression also. Why should there be so much life loss. Thats precisely why US is not getting involved here. I don't consider Jaishankars stand on Russian oil a good stand. See as of now India is playing double standard. India definitely could have helped by purchasing less oil from Russia and depended more on Saudi. But we as of now are trying to take benefit out of situation. As cruel as it stands diplomatically good approach considering inflation in India and stabilizing BJP as next successful candidate for 2024. From my point of view. Russia has more resources, more army, a very narrow selfish mindset. It will break on its on. But sad part is just because of Russias filth the whole world has to suffer

What Indian foreign minister said is bullshit. India is actually indeed funding the war. Europe had hard dependency on Russian oil for last 50 years, but they still cut down import from Russia, already knowing that oil prices will shoot up in their countries. However India, despite having no dependency on Russian oil, started a new import from Russia after the war has started. This is why India is called out by international community as funding the war. The stark difference in intention is very clear here. Also whats worse is, this cheap oil from Russia is being entirely resold by Indian companies in international market for higher profit, so there is no benefit for Indian people. This is the reason petrol prices are still high in India despite the cheap oil from Russia.

@@tiju4723 I am not talking about what the minister said specifically. I am talking about India's overall foreign policies in general since 1947. We have been the best in those things. Only our interest matters. And regarding funding the war, the powerful countries can do whatever they want if they need it. They can invade a foreign country or conduct attacks on foreign soil. Nobody bats an eye then. But when Russia did the same, suddenly everyone started worrying so much. I ain't justifying what Russia did. But you have to see the double standards by these powerful countries. The West is always showing double standards when it comes to their own matter. But, always bullying other countries when they do something against the interest of the West. This was shown in the past too. They have isolated India in many situations. Only a few nations like the USSR supported us in some ways then. Geopolitics is complex, but what we need to be worried about is whether it affects India. About petrol/diesel prices, that is a different matter altogether. It's our nation's pathetic internal politics and games. The benefit of these deals aren't reaching the common people.
