Great description… wanted to go there for a day,

When I was little I often visited the Saturnia waterfalls with my family. 35-40 years ago they were known mostly by the local population. They weren't such a well-known destination. For informative purposes I wanted to mention that in the town of Saturnia there are also professional spas that offer typical services. As for bugs, it may happen that you see some small worms in the water (2 or 3 millimeters long, almost like Dunes worms!) They are not dangerous and in fact are a sign that the water is not polluted. Mosquitoes are mosquitoes... The source of the stream is located a few km upstream towards the town of Saturnia. Saturnia is quite far from Rome or Florence but it may be worth the trip if you consider stopping somewhere else and seeing other things. Visiting only the most famous tourist destinations in Italy is like missing out on most of its beauty, Italy is full of forgotten and hidden gems

There are lockers beside the bar that you can rent

I’d love to go to a hot springs when I take the kids to Italy next year & have looked into this one but I don’t think it’s going to happen.

It's definitely out-of-the-way... unless your driving between Rome and Florence. Not for everybody.

There are little red worms here at certain times. We've been there when they were there and when they were not and we've found out they are mosquito larvae. They aren't appealing but they are harmless.
