    If you are wondering what the parachutes are for, some are for equipment but there's 2 for the co-pilot and pilot, who are trained squirrels.

    I lived in a little town called Arab, AL and was in high school during the design and testing phase of the Saturn V rocket that was built and tested in Huntsville, AL. at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). On many occasions when the rocket engines were tested the windows in our house in Arab would rattle and there was a very low frequency rumble that could be heard. It was the testing of these engines about 35 miles away. In January or 1970, I was very fortunate to go to work for NASA in Huntsville. I left there in 1976 for White Sands Missile Range. Never got to see the Saturn V launch but I realize now just how fortunate I was to work there during those years. That is an awesome rocket you guys built - keep up the good work. God Bless America.

    Why did it rise so fast? DIdn’t the real Saturn V rise slowly?

  • @quoniam426

    @quoniam426

    6 жыл бұрын

    A question of weight, density so thrust to weight ratio, the real Saturn was very heavy and even with all this power, majority of the power was used to fight gravity. The smaller rockets tend to take off very fast due to their light weight and engines still being quite powerful compared to the weight. But here, the idea was to make a minirocket spend its fuel very fast, so it didn't go high and it was not the purpose of this event. Look at what the Japaese Space Agncy launched a few days after Space X's Falcon Heavy, the smallest orbital rocket ever launched, ten meters high, just like this one, takes off very fast as well.

This will definately inspire me further to keep creating rockets the way ive been doing. My last launch took place on April 23rd, it was a succes and with accurate calculations, i was able to mark exactly where it would land. And it touched nozzle end down right on that mark. :)

    This was the most awesome, exciting video I have seen in a long time. I have dreamed of something like that, but I didn't think anyone could do it--congratulations! Did you need clearance from nearby airports before launch? It looks like you achieved a pretty decent altitude. Also, it looked like solid fuel--were they homemade engines?

    Man, that's just outrageous... Would like to see this with about 4 cameras on it, up close, etc, and then slow the video down about 1/4. I bet it would look like the real thing!!

    Anyone know what happened to the video of a large 30 foot Saturn 5 rocket cato'ing? Had some really cool on board videos of the poster coming apart

    Holy shit! When I clicked the link I thought it would be hobby-rocket size, but I was impressed at the 10:1, and then when I actually saw it, I was gobsmacked!
