I have Saturn retrograde in my birth chart. This guy threw so many troubles at me in my teens in his mahadasha that I attempted suicide several times during rahu and venus antardashas. I was living in such poverty that I barely ate once in every three days. There were times when I asked men to buy me food in exhange of sex but now I'm so grateful for everything! can feel the same way, presently I'm going through saturn mahadasha and rahu antardasha, both are debilitated, retro sat in 9th house with retro jup and rahu in 12th, so you van expect the extent of turmoil I'm going through. I'm a leo ascendant. and yes my childhood wasn't great at all, I'm 21 right now, suffered since last 16 years, 3 more to go. may god give me strength to get through this

Finally !!! 8.35 minutes of some real positive talk on Saturn retrograde otherwise after having read some 30 odd articles on retrogression especially Saturn, I was cursing my horoscope and my past karmas !! I have my Saturn retrograde in Sag in 10th house and what you explained is EXACTLY how I feel. I work very hard and feel stressed most of the time, but when I have an opportunity to lay back a little I just don`t want to, I need to feel like I`m progressing. Great interpretation! Hardly any astrologers would interpret in your way that's why I always thought something was wrong with other astrologers because they are often negative about Sat. retrograde. You are so right, I know some who are outrageously outgoing with no limitation. They have Saturn retrograde! And they are successful in life, business basically. Do you know the real secret of retrograde planets? Retrograde planets appear to be moving backwards at some point in the orbit due to relative motion. So planet is direct, then stationary, then retrograde, then again stationary and then direct. Now since planet is moving backwards (or atleast appears to be moving back), so the person with that retrograde planet tend to think a lot after doing something. They think that I should have done like this, I should have done like that. They over analyze the things. In case of Saturn, it is the planet of actions & Karmas, so instead of thinking, they act on their thoughts. So it is like this, suppose you did some project for 80 hours, then for next 20 hours you will think of how to polish it or optimize it. They tend to make make things better when they take time & think that it can be done in a better way. Age 28-30 is very critical period in one's life, either they make it or break it. This is because of their Saturn return. I would say that if you had bad relationships till now then around 30 you would have better & stabilizing relationships as you will act on the things that should be done to make it better (well depend on other planets too) Suppose if Mars if retrograde then you can take determined course of action. If Jupiter is retrograde, then you go back to school or start to learn something again late in life (or you can be a life long learner). If Mercury is retrograde, then you can start speaking late or even stammer, but you can become good writer as retrograde Mercury bring over analyzing & logical skills. I have Mercury retrograde.

Hell yeah! I have SATURN in VIRGO in the 3rd house! I love being organized, disciplined and structured even though my Sun in Pisces nature is quite the opposite. I also have NORTH NODE in Virgo in the 3rd (direct) so the themes of order, structure and discipline are essential. The hard thing is being practical and realistic.

Retrogression does not mean the reversal of the influence of the planet, just a strong intensification. The retrograde planet is closer to earth so his energy is felt about 3 times as strong. That may sometimes result in the reversal of its effects, e.g. when one collapses under the pressure (mainly of Saturn) and decides to let go all restrictions. Most of the times it only gets worse. Retrogression directs the energy more inward in order for us to realise the 'message' of the planet.

Thanks for the quick video lesson, it was very clearly explained. Most astrologers used to say when a planet is retrograde it is bad or it makes someone think out of the norm. Now, it seems like the planet is better to be retrograde (saturn and mercury).
