Holley, I wish i could have heard your lecture on monarch butterfly migration and the importance of intact ecosystems across the continent. But getting to see rescue beaver video is a pretty good substitute! Petunia is our little plushie wrestler and adorable napper; Tulip, the fashionista with her colored rings, her joy in swimming, and her dogged ground expeditions following Holley; and Stormy, spending the weekend getting medicated for her infection. Dear precious Stormy, soon this ordeal will be over! I can’t wait to see you fatten up!

My God, Petunia... Please stop being so adorable! I don't think I can handle it anymore. I thought that I could. I really did. I kept reading comments from folks who admitted not being able to take the level of adorableness, and I felt sympathy for them. But I didn't feel that I could relate. But that's it, now! Aww... Tulip! Your ring! Your noises! Your paranoia! I can imagine Tulip reclining on a beaver shrink's couch, clutching a handkerchief in her little left hand, describing the trauma of having sweet potatoes stolen from her and the nightmares that ensued. The shrink reassures Tulip that she can work through the trauma by facing a fear that is no longer justified, since her caretaker has never ever taken a sweet potato from her.

Petunia and Tulip are such Big Personalities! Petunia is going to be a force to reckon with when she gets bigger. And of course, Princess Tulip is a professional drama queen. The way she wears her Fashion Ring Belts™ everywhere is hysterically funny - it's like she decided to go directly to the Crazy Old Lady stage. After all, why waste time when you already know who you are and what you want? Life is too short, and there are only so many sweet potatoes, so you gotta grab them while you can and hang on! Hurray for brave Stormy, she'll soldier through and be so much better. I wonder what she'll think when she really gets to know Tulip and Petunia? Spicy and Feisty Saturday!

Years ago, I went to a butterfly house in Key West, FL. They were all flying free inside a special building. It was amazing! Tulip and her potato She is so funny....although you've NEVER taken her potato, you MIGHT. Petunia is a pro wrestler now...wears herself out. Looking forward to Stormy feeling better...I'm sure you are too.

I just adore Beavers and how similar they are to human lifestyles in many ways. When it comes to mammals there's not a terribly large amount that build homes out of sticks, stones, and mud. Hopefully it makes for an overall happy existence to them in human care as ambassadors - it's not terribly that different of a lifestyle within a human family unit vs their natural one.

Lots of play for Petunia followed by her little baby nap! Tulip was hysterical, she didnt want to share her sweet potato with mum but then it shot over to her of its own accord! 😅😅 I love her little hissy fits! They're sll so cute and gorgeous ❤❤❤

Tulip's protective sweet potato song and dance today made me laugh so hard. Thank you, am recovering from an illness and my body needed it! I love her contact calls - Holley have you tried to imitate her call? I wonder how she would react.

I hadn’t thought about it before, but like humans, I guess the banana is high GI and the sweet potato is low, so it gives energy for longer. But a baby beaver just like their banana, and who can blame them😂❤❤❤

Yes unfortunately. We have to give her liquid oral medicine so she is held briefly. She is handling it very well.
