​@@Missauthentic716 thats not what thick means, thick hair/due, is hair or fur so dense that even after shaving for example in fur it still looks and feels thick in hair its hair that you can thin and thin for days but it never looses volume what your talking about is length, longer coats in winter help keep heat, curle also help keep heat in some cases, though not best due to their dirtiness an animal with curly hair would quickly get dirty that's why you dont see it often in nature unless its human hair, becouse we clean it and Likly always have.

*funny story:* I'm half asleep watching these KZread shorts and I swear for a second I thought you were shaving someone's head. when the "skin" started falling off I realized that the long hair is a horse tail and the "bald head" was just the end of the horse. Also I was at the hospital all day for my dad doing brain surgery. Everything went well but seeing this after while being half asleep with a brain mindset my brain took a weird turn. 😂😂😂😂 I should definitely get to bed now. hope everyone that reads this has a wonderful day.

If they have a particularly thick coat and they live in a hot place, they'll shave em so they don't overheat (or develop sweat pockets and start chewing on that spot to scratch it, which eventually makes them bald in spots.) They shaved a few at the barn I work at cause y'know, TX heat.

Growing up in Ga. near Atlanta I rode horses with my dad for about 10 -12 years anyway we had as many as 6-8 quarters horses and a retired race horse but every summer I would clip the whole horse it was a lot of work but the horses seemed to like it!🤷🐴

Only time I've seen some parts shaved is if there gonna do surgery or something on a animal or its fur is so meshed with burrs that that's the only way to get them out.

Actually less hair would be better because not only can horses not sweat but that also means it’s harder for them to cool down having less hair helps with that another reason we do it is because horse flies actually lay eggs in horses fur and so do some other species course I don’t think it’s a good idea to shave your horse rather then just let it shed and use some tools from time to time hope I helped

when an owner shaves a horse, they shave the places where a horse sweats not the whole horse. so this horse is likely a top level jumper or racehorse etc. Cooling off a sweated up horse that is not shaved takes forever, its very uncomfortable for the horse as the hair takes forever to dry, so shaving it enables the horse to not overheat when running or jumping, and cooling off takes just a few minutes its easy. When not performing, the horse will have to wear a blanket to keep it warm.

Я конник и коневладелец, и тоже чёт не понимаю. Есть объяснения, для чего это гипотетически нужно - мол лошадь летом сильно потеет, ей жарко и так можно облегчить её страдания. Но тут же встречный вопрос - как не продуть лошадь на следующий же день? Шерсть им не просто так дана. А ходить постоянно в попоне (типа пальто+дождевик для лошадей) это тоже самое что в шерсти. Мне кажется это просто по приколу уже делают.

Seriously though...if you shave your horse bald as Mr Clean, how much sunscreen do they need? Do naked horses tan?

The only time I clipped my horse's hair was during the winter months to make it easier for him to cool down after a workout and he got sweaty. I clipped under his belly and neck area to allow him to cool off, if he was too wet with sweat I would throw a fleece blanket over his body and working from his neck to his haunches he would allow me to use a hair blower to dry him off faster. He was a very sweet Morgan Gelding and I will forever miss him. ❤😢

@@bigbird4481 Born on a farm. I was riding by 4. We used a Curry comb. Never saw a horse shaved.

I've seen a viral video of wild horses being chased down by a brown bear. If I were a horse I'd choose to deal with humans 😂

I'm worried about the wrinkles created while shaving. That's where nicks occur.

After owning horses for 15 years, I promise you this is the happiest day of a horses life, just look at their wiener if you don’t believe me….. they’re happy alright lol
