i see a lot of people in the comments saying that for some reason this version makes them sadder than the original, and honestly dame here, but not because of the fact i ship lams. think about it this way. this guy laurens lives in a world where being attracted to someone of the same gender isnt only frowned upon, its publishable by law. not only must he cope with the fact that alex has found someone else, he must alzo repress his feelings altogether, which you can imagine is a miserable way to live. I'm not trying to take away from angelicas pain, but unlike her laurens never had a chance.

Someone wrote Burn from Laurens POV about the Lams letters getting burned. I found it on Pinterest and I think you guys should see it. Samster I mean, he says he hadn't slept in a week which has the mental effects as being drunk, so technically that would have been rape and he was blackmailed into continuing. And back then, to not accept a duel when YOU were the one picking a fight would have been considered shameful and he did tell him to raise his pistol clearly.
