Nuclear weapon is the last resort. I cannot imagine how weak russia is to the point that he cannot win over Ukraine and he threat with nuclear weapons to everyone. Putin and his garbage army felt the shame of their pathetic military now.

Most people forget that we had an ICBM just like the Sarmat. It was called the Peacekeeper MX. It was a heavy ICBM long-range missile capable of carrying up to 14 multiple nuclear warheads. These became really obsolete when the newer submarine ICBMs came on the scene (Trident II D5). Not only could the sub ICBM carry multiple warheads like the Sarmat, but can sit in deepwater offshore waiting for the order to launch. These are truly 1st strike weapons leaving little to no time for response. So the Sarmat is old news. Been there, done that 30 years ago.

I read this technique was doable about silent submarine. The zone of ocean, where the sub is, is more silent than the surrounding. But in the case of missile flying in a plasma cloud, I don't know if it is possible. After if the plasma absorbs radar waves, its thermal signature is clearly visible from very far! Then I don't know if such a missile is really so interesting. Because if its plasma cloud blocks enemy radar signals, it also blocks all electromagnetic signals. So the missile can't be equipped with a radar, because it would be blind and it can't receive any trajectory correction signal or GPS/GLONASS signal. I don't know how a such missile could an efficient anti-ship weapon! It can't be guided to its target if this one moves.

@@nicolas2419 valid concern. And that's why it took so long to develop. The missile was able to fly over 10 years ago, but it's control was a problem, which got solved in 2017 and adopted to the whole hypersonic lineup, so in 2018 Putin announced the whole array of these weapons.

@@vladG30 U.S UK and France all together can't fix this issue. The problem was never in a concept of hypersonic speed. The problem is how to wield that speed as a weapon. It's only a weapon if you can control it. Else it's just a fast moving object going nowhere. Russia fixed that issue alone thanks to unique expertise in some of a fields of a science that Russia was developing all times. "Fields" were wasted in all these countries because they were never properly managed. It's the result of a deep degradation. For example: Saturn V was successfully wasted because U.S. stopped investing into program, stopped investing into rocket science, stopped investing into minds. And i am not talking about money. They can invest as much money as they want. The problem runs much deeper and the best way to describe it, would be a plain degradation of society. U.S were able to fly to the moon because they wanted to win USSR in something. They wasted this technology because there was no need in it anymore. And that was their biggest mistake. And that's why we have to start from scratch.

Not very plausible this is some Russian propaganda fairy tale. First of all the Moscva sank for the coast of Odessa not in the sea of Azov. Second of all how on earth would they have made that journey through enemy territory all the way to the Azov steel plant in Mariupol while the Azov steel plant is besieged. And launching these missiles from Mariupol wouldn't make sense either because they would have flown over air defence of Crimea. No I think the Ukrainians deserve much more credit for the sinking of the Moskva.

I’m willing to bet that over half of their nukes are non functioning and many of them are old and outdated requiring special planes to fly them. These planes are 50-70 years old and cannot penetrate radar systems. Like only a few hundred are actually operable or useable. With a 90% shoot down percentage with current anti missile technology maybe 30 hit an actual target. In the mean time, we would launch much more concise attacks on military infrastructure, rendering Russia useless.

Don't measure the lethality of a country by its size. GB has 4 ballistic missile submarines of the Vanguard-class. Each submarine lurking in the waters offshore of Russia carry 16 Trident II D5 missiles. Each missile carries 8 independently tragetable warheads. That is 128 warheads per submarine, and 512 warheads in all able to be launched with little or no warning. This is enough to turn the entire country of Russia to ashes and kill all of its 144 million people. The Sarmat missile carries at most 10-15 warherads. 512 verses 15. And does anyone believe the USA will stand-by as GB gets nuked? The USA has 14 ballistic Ohio class subs carrying 24 missiles per sub. That is a total of 2,688 375kt warheads. Do the math and STOP the crazy talk. Nuke War = No Winners
