Here's how to do it: Let x be the number such that x and 10 average to a. Thus, (x + 10)/2 = a. The question asks for x. So, we can start algebra-ing to get x = 2a - 10. Thus, the answer is 2x-10.

Pocket Cloud although the there's a minus sign. The answer is more likely to be positive (above 0 in this scenario) it was 10 -X and basically the E is different. Ahh a bit complicated

let me tell everyone do not follow these silly things. (To guess )If you are studying for a particular competitive exam, you must know the basic theories and mother formulas and you will need a deep knowledge of algebra and probability and you need to put that in work together which is a huge deal. You need to limit down your answer if its math or physics. You need a very deep base of sin, cos, tan so much that you can convert sinx to cosx value in your mind and put an entire part as constant and decide your ans. Once you limit and fix a range of your ans you will eliminate most. In exams like ITT or MIT the ans are similar types because the examiners are genius. They will put the back calculations as log\ vectors\ decimal \ if type changing dimensions. After all this there are negative marking, if you dont work logically you will get a minus for every wrong that is n+m (mark for q asked + negative mark) now suppose n+m is 7 and full mark is 300 and this tricks (ones in videos) with less than 25%, a maximum of 120300 marks will be scored. It is impossible for you to get more than 120/300 by such tricks. And if you think you can do the the former , you are a genius so it is better if you study your syllabus cause it is easier. Hard work beats smart work. The top famous people in science were never genetically higher, it was always the people from last bench, who the world considered idiots. Stop wasting your time and study.
