James writes “When I was younger my family would have reunions in the summer at my grand parents house and the kids would camp out in tents in the early morning hours before day light a few of us would wake up to howls in the distance not really loud but like they were far away we heard this almost every night.
When we visited our parents just played it off and teased us that it was the boogie man eventually my parents was transferred to Pennsylvania from Virginia we moved to the next county over from the one my grand parents lived we lived in a very rural area.
I made a friend that lived about a half a mile from me we met at the mom and pop store it was early summer, school was out he asked if I liked to fish and said yes so we rode our bikes to a dnr service road about a mile up the rode was a train trestle that went over a good size creek.
We explored all day, we did this for about two weeks everyday. We decided to do a weekend camping and fishing trip and go deeper into the woods to find a better place to fish. The first day was good we made camp got fire wood then started to fish things got really quiet no birds or squirrels we could here pebbles hitting the water from the ridge above where the gravel road we heard something moving around we thought it was a black bear because we have seen one earlier that week about a mile up the creek.
We started to holler go away bear and make noise to let it know we were there so we had a radio and turned it on we built a fire pit and started a fire it was getting dark so we ate about 11 pm we went to sleep we were woke up a few times that night to what we thought was a bear snooping around the camp.
What I now know as wood knocks we woke up that morning and our fire pit was wrecked and our fishing poles were scattered around but we just really didn’t think about it but later that day was going to change our lives again pebbles started falling from the ridge above the movement now was like something was pacing back in forth above us every now and then we heard a huff and rocks would land behind us in the woods we still had no clue what it was a bout an hour later this thing starts coming down the ridge like a tank through the woods about 20 yards up from us and walked right into the creek.
It looked at us growled then 2 strides to the other side and went into the woods on the other side we both was shaking all over and both peed our pants could not move then my friend hollered let’s get the the F out of here.
We ran and left everything we ran all the way to my house my parents was like what’s the matter we were white as ghosts. We told them and they wanted to go there the next day I didn’t wanna go so they called the dnr office and they sent a officer to talk to me and my friend.
We reluctantly took him there and he found foot prints and cast them but told us it was a bear but I know what I saw and it was no bear I have only to my family about this and got teased alot about it so im so glad for you and your show thank you wes for what you do .”
I will also be speaking to Kathy Strain. Kathy is a West Coast investigator who studies the role of bigfoot and Native American cultures.
She holds a master’s degree in anthropology from California State University, and is employed as the Forest Heritage Resource and Tribal Relations Programs Manager for the Stanislaus National Forest, located in Sonora, California, where she continues to study sasquatch.
She has worked in archeology, and is an author who in 2008, published the book “Giants, Cannibals & Monsters: Bigfoot in Native Culture,” (www.amazon.com/Giants-Canniba...) a compilation of stories about the “hairy man” phenomenon in North and South America.

I HATE, when people discuss getting a body, to give to science. Like you honestly don't think, that the military hasn't already caught a few of these "Beings" and had their scientists do their damage???? And you wonder why they stay hidden, from horrible humans. Just because WE....know nothing about these beings, doesn't mean some CERTAIN people don't. You have to be of some "big importance ", or have seriously deep pockets. And another thing, if you are NOT, a nature person, if you do not camp, hike, hunt, fish and so on, why concern yourself with these beings period. They AREN'T bothering you, don't bother them!!! I do all the above mentioned, so I listen to keep myself informed on what to look out for. As far as "monsters".....mankind are also monsters, just saying....stop trying to kill what you don't understand. And as far as protection, they seem to do an excellent job at protecting themselves.

So let me get this straight...she is out in the woods looking for Bigfoot, sees a small one up in a tree, thinks it's a chimpanzee, ignores it, and then comes to the realization that chimps don't live in the woods, goes back to look for it and it's gone? Really? And the other time when she sees 2 Bigfoot walking towards her she runs at them? She is either the most inept researcher on the planet or not very bright.

She is no anthropologist because she does not listen to the people that explain how they're happy to understand big foot ways and coexist, how it's part of their culture, and they are humbled by them not assuming like Cathy they're out to harm us. Maybe they're on a higher level and we could learn from them as guardians of all that is wild.

@@adriandyer6721 Meh, like others have noted, bigfoots have very different personalities and behavior. Some want nothing to do with us and will avoid anything "human" at all costs. Some are curious and will watch from afar. Some are nosy and will follow you and mess with your things. Some are territorial and want you to leave. And some, unfortunately, are violent and want to eat you. Luckily, most encounters are from curious, nosy, or territorial ones.

Wow, as I'm listening to all your podcasts, things I've experienced are making sense. Especially the stone throwing. In 2009, in Las vegas, Red Rock Canyon, my son and I were hiking early in the morning. It was cold, and snow had fallen the night before. As we were finishing our hike, we were on a path with steep canyon walls around us. The walls were covered with desert plants and boulders, so we couldn't see clear up to the top. All of a sudden, rocks were being tossed at us as we were walking. At first, I thought it was a rock slide. But I realized the rocks were being thrown out from about the middle of the incline. When we stopped, it stopped. When we started walking, it happened again. The rocks were coming down one at a time and almost exactly where we were on the path. I yelled up at whatever it was to stop, and it got worse. We started to run at this point because I felt whatever this was hoping to hurt us. As we ran, it kept up with us still throwing rocks. There's no way it was a human because the terrain couldn't have been navigated that fast to keep up with us. I thought Mountain Lion, but Mountain Lions, don't throw rocks.I've been truly perplexed over this over the years. Listening to these stories, It very well could've been a Bigfoot.

First story, the guy talks about rangers taking a cast of what they called a "bear" print, then destroying the evidence. Second story, the woman sounded like she was scientifically in the dark in regards to a specimen as there are accounts of the military/government providing medical assistance to Sabe when Mount Saint Helen's erupted. It is possible the there are Ageny's who know what is what and perhaps the path of public humiliation was at some point chosen for anyone who speaks up about sightings. It's a fine line between fact and fiction and there are forces who work to keep it as fiction, possibly for the survival of the species.

I think that the "powers that be", whoever those powers are, most definitely know about these creatures. There's literally no way for them not to know. And they work to keep their existence a secret. It's impossible to know why they want to keep it a secret to the public, but it's probably for a whole bunch of reasons. Part of keeping it a secret is almost certainly discrediting anyone who is a legitimate threat to the secret. I'm not really someone who easily believes in conspiracies either, and I cringe hard inside when people start bringing conspiracies up. But there's simply no way that the existence of these creatures is not known by some agency of the government, and they would have plenty of reasons for keeping it covered up.

Upside down trees or standing logs is a very old long term survival strategy. By placing rot logs upright you encourage more bugs to eat them which you can eat or use as bait. Eating grubs doesn't sound great but it is good for you and an intelligent creature can use them as bait to catch more substantial prey items like fish, birds and small mammals.

Hadih 🤔I enjoyed Jame's story. This white lady who is archeologist. NATIVE AMERICANS should have the artifacts. My goodness leave these beings/ mystical creatures/ big foot/ saskwatch ALONE. Some of our Indigenous people in communities believe are they are beings that are protector of the forests. And killing these beings for science is so wrong. Let them be. We have some big foots in our Wetsuwet'en territory. Listen to Bill or Tom Seeweid(spelling) from the Kwakwaka"wakw territory. A few KZread videos of him. I was told that these mystical beings chooses people who can see them. I believe that. However; there ones who accidentally run into big foot. Let them be. I really enjoyed James ' story 🤲. Too bad about the developments. The destruction of the lands.😔. Otherwise, other stories that were shared were intriguing. Sne kalyegh 🤲

I think the subject is good and worth investigating, but that doesn’t mean I have to treat every investigator like they are honest when most of them are just idiots that go into the forest and play so-called Sasquatch noises hoping to attract them? Maybe she doesn’t do that exactly but she reminds me of the same kind of moron. And most native Indians in America are packed onto reservations, live in houses like you and me but maybe in worst poverty and have their women kidnapped and murdered more than anyone else’s in the US. Saying she knows her stuff because she talks to native Americans is like saying I can build a house without the skills needed because I’ve spoken to builders. From what I’ve gleaned the chances of a friendly encounter seem fair but there are some that just don’t want contact with us. Beware because once you’ve had contact you could be ‘tagged’ in that for them it’s a lifelong engagement. I don’t think they are inherently evil, but like us there will be evil ones amongst them. Just be careful what you ask for. Scott Carpenter has forewarned many people using his own experiences after contact with them. They showed up at his house, he experienced other paranormal activity around his property too. He ended up rebuking them using religious methods. Kinda way out there for me but he says it works as he’s advised others on how to achieve this.

Les, Love your work man, There seems to be a renewed interest an effort in Port Chatham, AK... I know you have been to AK before but did you go to that area? In my opinion, there would be a youtoob breaking episode if you went to port Chatham and did the Surviverman Level Effort to answer some questions...... Maybe even with your choice of a small security crew just in case... If you can, use tethered surveillance blimps properly positioned so anything with a heat signature that moves gets filmed... and located immediately so you know exactly where to go with your cameras.. in real time... The first person to get undisputed evidence on film will be a billionaire quick.... It would just be good to see YOU get the undisputed evidence that finally answers the questions..... None of the other TV people seem to want to do what it's going to take to get it done... Merry Christmas Les... GODSPEED..

@@amandas5261 well, I had my hopes up that Finding Bigfoot was going to be a decent show, but after the 2 episode I knew it was a joke.. 3 of the people on that show have a little respect from me and the other one just blew it for alot of people.. Another recent show, 2 of the people on it have real credibility and everything to gain and nothing to lose because of their professionalism and being absolutely unwilling to lie or go along with BS theory or non science based research.. They are filming a 3rd now and it's pretty hush hush, so maybe they found something... I have to see to believe anymore because of all the foolishness that somehow gets on tv.. I will say this, I do believe there is some kind of unknown animal that we have not been able to get a grip on out there... people, very credible people are seeing something, something that scares them so bad no one can seem to get a non blurry picture or video of whatever it is that proves beyond any doubt what that something is... There are no more excuses for not getting a picture or video of one. Everyone has a phone, camera, cameras on their cars, rvs, in their campsites.. no more excuses.. The only still existing reasonable and believable explanation for all of the pics and videos being blurry is getting to be Biblical.. Cavemen weren't that big or Harry and that is all I have on that.. Now, about Les, he is serious, professional and fun and tells a good story and does a good job filming. And according to his shows he really gets out into the bush. That is what it is going to take.. extreme remote research where idiots are not.. Saying all of this also makes me stop to think. It also has to be fun and adventurous if your not getting a grant or bounty to bag one and bring it in.. So good luck to you if your researching and good luck to any one that has enough stuff to go out into the deep remote wilderness and look for a 900 lb 8 ft tall species of undiscovered primate that could literally rip your arms off and beat you with it... Godspeed Amanda, thanks for your comment..

human and chimpanzee DNA is 98% similar. the fact that nobody has fully sequenced sasquatch DNA means that there is no full picture to compare it against, Small pieces of Squatch DNA if found will definitely come back as human or Great Ape DNA because that is the most similar specimen that has been fully sequenced. I fear that most people lack an understanding of DNA analysis. It is very expensive to Sequence individual animals. The fact that science took an army of scientists many years. The fact that science has already sequenced most known animals is a feat of great magnitude that is overlooked by most laymans.

I think the governments should take measures to protect sasquatches, close off territories of their habitat from curious onlookers. Seems these are very rare species that need to be defended. A lot of crazy people are out to hunt them, disturb them and that's not right. The environmentalists should do something about it too, maybe ban hunting them. There is a guy in Texas who shot one and boasts about it, he put the corpse out for display. Now thanks to him, it's gonna inspire other hunters. Awful.

There can be an argument made for covering it all up, in the interests of protecting them from humans who might go out and try to hunt them down, and maybe protecting those humans too, from their own stupidity. If there was ever full disclosure there would be such intense human curiosity about them, they could never be safe again. People would want to "see one in a cage", as Wes said.

Tranquillisers are very dangerous, especially for an animal that we do not understand their physiology, weight etc. Their also needs to be a reversing drug used as you cannot leave anyone unconscious and vulnerable to predation. Then the safety of the group has to be considered while they are collecting data. This would all have to be conducted by a trained vet with other experts on team to ensure an ethical outcome where every team member including the study animal was safe. This lady is an anthropologist. She collects artefacts. She is kept out of the loop by government concerning big foot. I don't believe killing one will save the species but rather excellerate its extinction and destroy the forests with idiots with guns wanting their own kills. The government's of the world keep us plebs in the dark for a reason.
