It’s a nice video but what we really want to know is whether they were successful or not!

Thank you for the great video and propogation tips for your favorite berry (and mine). Saskatoons can be quite variable in productivity and taste so it is great that you can clone from an exceptional plant. Some in the wild have large almost black fruit that are so juicy sweet and flavourful

That is a really cool jacket you got there. Thanks for the videos, I am new to saskatoons, but I do have one bush in my backyard and I have been converted, they are delicious.

Here many peoples say that tree propagation is not working at all for the saskatoon berries including smoky and any other subtypes. Your youtube makes me very positive to try myself. Thank you very much!

I know of some saskatoon trees in town so ill be going to town with a cutters and a bottle of water to tranport them back to my house. I really want saskatoon trees in my back yard and my moms backyard. Nice. And then later on some raspberry bushes.

I haven’t had luck with propagating these from cuttings unfortunately. Gonna try sprouting seeds I collected from wild ones that had way better taste and juiciness than my store bought variety

@@StarKillersSon I’m going to be stratifying the seeds outdoors over the winter. I’m assuming they just wouldn’t sprout without stratification.

I live in New Zealand and have sprouted some saskatoon berry seeds. I cold stratified these for 90days then planted in potting mix containers outside and watered regularly. They took literally 2 years to germinate and pop up. All of them popped up in spring this year. Seeds take a long time!

So basically Saskatoon is a service berry. West rockies only. We have eastern varieties here Oklahoma.

Hi I hope you are well! I enjoyed your video. I have lilacs that have invaded my Saskatoon patch and wonder if you, or anyone, can suggest a way to get them out. How did your new Saskatoon shrubs do? Thank you.

You should be able to get away with one, should you have other plants that it can cross with. however atleast 2 would suffice.
