Honestly i love the idea behind these lyrics built by paul as a way to express his emotions about his octarian heritage and the kind of people he was raised to admire - not the people doing good things today, but the old vets from the great turf war, who refuse to live for the future, rotting in the memory of the past, and the leaders of the oppressive societies (inkling and octarian) that still keep so many of his people trapped underground to this day. Really fits with sashimori's punk inspiration! Really good lyrics for a song that already made me feel emotional, now even more so :)

ooh, i love this interpretation! my original idea was just to base it off of the alterna rocket launch that caused them all to die off, specifically on how the scientists ignored the warnings of the elders and these being the recordings from during the rocket building process as well as being from the few who survived the falling shards before they slowly died off this interpretation totally fits as well though, kind of gives it a double-meaning

@@TVCat58 oh shit!! I did consider alterna too, but I didn't realize that was your main idea!! Honestly that just makes these lyrics all the better!! The similarities between the two scenarios - the human youth bringing about the end of their species in an attempt to see the sky and octarian youth rebelling against an oppressive society that uses those same fractured false skies as a security blanket just It's such a good dichotomy and it really further enforces the way the sea life took up humanity's mantle and is working to overcome the mistakes of humanity they have no idea they inherited

One of my fav battle tracks in the series and the lyrics really do it justice! I love how you incorporated the lore we got from Alterna with Sashimori's songs

Loving the overarching theme of the SashiMori songs here! Paul really just leaked the NSS and all its operations for this, huh.

This is amazing! The story you put into this one makes me think of a very young human trying to become a scientist to help with the rockets, and when alterna began to crumble, they tried to save younger humans so they could escape and see the sky. What's heartbreaking is that the vocals are audibly from someone pretty young so paul found recordings of this young person panicking throughout the whole disaster ;( amazing lyrics, "i dont know what im doing" really hit hard

thanks! when i first heard this song, the vocals in the chorus really just screamed to me the feelings of guilt and regret, and with how i was basing my amalgamania lyrics off of alterna, i thought i'd base these ones off of alterna as well, focusing primarily on the scientists who tried to reach the surface against the advice of the elders and the fallout from the cave-in, watching as those very same elders who had raised them as well as the rest of the community suffered for their mistakes

I don't think the (gibberish) lyrics for this song have been revealed yet? I mainly based them on the vibes I had been getting from the chorus, which kind of seemed like they were filled with regret and guilt, and just built on the lyrics from there.

@@GijsR15 As far as I'm aware, the lyrics to every Splatoon song is entirely gibberish, and can't be translated at all There are some lyrics that are intended to sound like actual words, such as Inkoming's official lyrics containing, "Ink o sink", but they are largely untranslatable
