Sasamado Power Plant

Sasamado Power Plant is known as an isolated abandoned power plant that cannot be approached except by crossing the river. It was completed in 1931 as a private power plant for Tokai Shigyo (later Tokai Pulp).
It was abolished on March 31, 1961 due to the construction of the Igawa Dam upstream. The beautiful building covered in ivy remains behind an abandoned tea plantation.
