SARKANNIEMI Review & "Tornado!" The Rare Intamin Suspended Coaster!
It's one of just two of the Suspended roller coasters found in the World by manufacturer Intamin! Särkänniemi in Tampere Finland is an Amusement Park area that features an aquarium, observation tower, 5 roller coasters, zoo, art museum, planetarium and more. The park is known by enthusiasts for its Intamin suspended coaster Tornado, which has the last remaining flat heartline rolls on a coaster of this style. #sarkanniemi #amusementpark #rollercoasters #review
The park also has a log flume and river rapids, and some unique and not-so-unique off-the shelf coaster models as well. It is a full day stop for us on our four day trip to three of the biggest amusement parks in Finland.

I think it's so weird how the turn out of the station on Tornado has "square" track on the turn track piece. Is that a transfer track? Love how odd the heartline rolls are on it. They go down and in instead of up and over like normal rolls.

OK.. as a coaster designer (simulated, but still) , I can't totally disagree with the cobra dis, but I can't agree either. Consider the options for executing a quick out n back turnaround? Really, your only other options are a twisty top hat (nice, but equally overworked), or just s-bends and an overbanked loopback (yecchhh... unless it's themed 😎). It's a way of going out the way you came in sorta thing and throws an inversion in to pot as well. Not really lazy, just not a lot of options available for quick 180s. (Note: I didn't include inverse cobras as it it's a bit redundant.) ✌😁👍
I was never a fan of the heartline rolls on volcano, to me they just felt a bit kind of awkward. I'm surprised you managed to find enough things to do for a whole day at the park as I kind of ran out of them after a few hours, although I did find a nice but expensive brewery nearby for lunch!

Hours were short the day we went, so if they’re longer I could see half day being plenty. & We did take a 1-2 hour beer break now that you say it 😆. I really liked Tornado and figure in I’ll possibly never be back so I rode the crap out of it.
