Mbongeni Ngema should be recognized and acknowledged he did something that many producers were afraid to do he fought directly through acting and music against the system that oppressed and targeted black lives.

Shirleen Batrony I loved it too. My grandmother took me when I was younger. It was the best Broadway musical experience for me. I was very impressed.
I saw the musical at age 12 in Germany many, many years ago. I remember crying, feeling terrible pain and giving standing ovations to the artists in the end. That musical made me understand on an emotional level what apartheid was, even though I had no connection to South Africa in any way.
Being around that time and being the kid i was,I grew up listening to this song and it was awesome...in 80's they would bring us there songs and movie theaters in our school and gathering to get entertained was and still is something i will never forget.keep up sarafina family and may you age gracefully.loved💕

I will never forget the day I went to see them in Philly with greetings with friends when I was the tender age of 18. I'd never heard anything like it. Their voices were so outstanding! The emotions they displayed as they sang of the atrocities of the apartheid were felt deep. We played that soundtrack often and today I am back there again hearing them on KZread.
