I don't think he's one of, I think he might be. EVERY interpretation of his I've heard is both original and also somehow, definitive.. it's like he is the reincarnation of Paganinni, Wieniasky, Vieuxtemps, Sarasate, Kreisler, Ysasaye, Heifetz, Elman, Oistrach, with the passion of Pearlman, Fire of Sarah Chang, but the technical perfection of Hillary Hahn, and musical sensibilities that are undefinable, but always on point modern and original. In short, had i not interacted with and seen him live on a zoom meeting, I would almost believe he couldn't possibly be a real person.

so far the best performance of Zigeunerweisen for ME
Such an attack on the strings and bite that is refreshing bringing the power of the violin alive....the most thrilling since Nigel Kennedy.......enchanting!
Kerson makes sounds on the violin I never heard before, very special bow hand.
Is the freakin' camera man married to the flute player?!?! 😡Kept panning to her when he should've been focused on one of the greatest violinists to ever play this piece!! You are AMAZING!!!!!

Absolutely and utterly incredible performance from Kerson. Thank you so much I really really appreciate watching you play.
You literally came from nowhere suddenly I feel like I went back 100 years.
Cool arrangement. Leong is truly one of those rock star players, with such a unique and exciting interpretation of a classic that is supposed to be quite expressive. Most players kinda just play it the same way it has been for the last 100 years. Plus, he's a snappy dresser.
I never thought I'd say this, but it surpassed Itzaak Perlman and Jascha Heifetz. Simply incredible. Magic. Is it a violin or a bird?
Great performance and Kerson always looks so smart and stylishly presented.
Absolutely perfect. Your tone and way of playing is unique, as are Heifetz, Perlman and other true virtuosos. Bravo!

kerson leong, one of the greatest violinists of our time : what a priviledge and pleasures to be able to hear and see him !
Gooseys all the way. So lovely. HOLY CRAP, I LOVE that way of doing the descent at 2:39!! THAT WAS SO COOL!!! What a way to add something new. I just love it I also really love the tempo you used. Brings more new colours into the feel of the whole piece. I just cant believe my ears dude. So so soooo so good
Best one so far... Can't describe, this version has another kind of sound, unbelievable!
I've never thought anyone can play this piece better than Perlman.. But u really did it❤
The great and wonderful Kerson Leong - breathtaking artistry, every time.
Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Åh vad jag älskade detta stycke när jag var ung! Då var det en skiva av violinisten Michael Rabin. Men också den här killen gjorde jätte bra ifrån sig. Tack ❤
So creative with the sounds, bow speeds, articulations, dramatic gestures! Glorious!
4:07 the good ol' rustic harmonic! Awesome performance Kers :)
Nice! I love the batik too!
Just wowwwww!! Got chills listening to this version, my personal new favourite rendition!!

I love 5:03 onwards. As my teacher described the section which happens before this part: "it's *a lot* of fluff to get to the real heart of the piece, and then of course an ending with a bang!"

Personally, I think the intro and the Lento sections are the best. Everyone has their opinions, though.
Kerson and María Dueñas are, in my opinion, the best interpreters of our generation.
One of the things that I admire most about your playing is how unique your sound is. And it fits this piece perfectly. Bravo!
First listen: not impossible, way to perfect 10th listen: well, now I'm almost there! 🎻 Tnx Kerson, wonderful playing!
That was such a fun and refreshing performance!! It's usually played with a bit of pride, but this was so diverse and playful, it was very enjoyable! :D
Bravo!!!🤩🤩🤩👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
too good! wonderful! beautiful sound.

@@OttoKuus It is just unique, honestly I don't know how to explain. His interpretation reminds me of Anne-Sophie Mutter but he has such a style to his playing.
Amazing!
Gosh so much attention to every single detail! I absolutely love this performance. And of course the orchestra was also very fine and supported very well your rich sound. I absolutely love your passion in your playing!!!!
There are about a couple of billion people living in the Asian hemisphere. It is therefore no magic that a hundred or so are gifted with great talents. Koreans specifically. I have seen them strolling in the Rue de Rome in Paris, looking for the best instruments available. Mr Kerson is no exception. His play is brilliant and on tone.

He's Chinese Canadian. He represents Canada. It's not appropriate to reference Asia. it would not be appropriate to reference Europe when talking about American violinist Hilary Hahn
Leong is a big talent-much more than most realize!
Beautiful! Shooting Stars!❤️
True artist!! Such an amazing performance!!
You are the one and only, can't describe how perfect your playings are!
Wow that intonation is impeccable
❤❤❤❤❤
Gorgeous- and the music too....
Oh wow…. Stunning
Tormented in such a beautiful way.
Bravo maestro!
Bravo🎉
Qu'elle découverte pour moi ..je croyais connaître les meilleurs musiciens de notre époque. Mais je ne connaissais pas kerson long...
Bravo, perfectly performed
That was great, had me in tension for most of the piece, goosebumps in one moment. I couldn't help noticing the body language, in the beginning in some moments you looked careless, a little bit like you thought you were too cool for this, but in truth absolutely focused and on point. Later on it turned into just looking completely relaxed and focused in some moments, I can imagine that would be a good mental place to play from. But what do I know, this is very subjective.
Bravo!
Perfect intonation and lit phrasing ❤️
2:30-2:40 was just soooo perfectly donnnneeee
Bravo! Stellar! Just wonderful!
My new favorite version- its so clean and technically accurate, not to mention those mind-bending chromatic glissandos (ahem 2:40) and insanely quick pizzes and bright harmonics! I think you are one of my new favorites!

Q interpretação!!
Bravo..
I enjoyed every microsecond 😍🙏🏼❤️
top dawg!!
Unbearably beautiful.
A unique interpretation keeping totally in the character of the piece- many nice individual touches to add to the improvisitory character and all played with a golden tone- clear, articulated bow arm and a passionate vibrato able to adjust to any speed for moods of great intensity and calm. You are a musician's musician- bravo!
Increíble como siempre.
Marvelous! Bravo!

Потрясающе!Браво!
Waoou✨🌈🎻🌞 Dear Kerson, you bring violin playing to a whole different level! A higher vision of performing violin music on this planet ! it is absolutely interesting and fun, really! you make Sarasate absolutely fabulous and captivating. please forgive me for one remark, (because you are such a great master), so, a good conductor would create more synchronicity with this big Group of musicians. and also larger range of dynamics from the orchestra.
Damn you good and know it. Wow amazing
Awesome!!!
Wow. You added a lot of nice changes to set yourself apart from other interpretations, like to the trills, the bow speed, the dynamics, the pacing, the tempo, and so on. Nice shirt too. You know how to dress well. Someday I'll listen to you perform live in a concert hall. By the way, it sounded as if you may have missed that note at around 7:50. I couldn't help but notice it.

Certainly that harmonic is quite easy to spot out so it's natural you would notice it not as present! I managed to hear it faintly but yes I think I agree. Definitely should not detract from his stellar performance, at least it isn't out of tune or a mismatch of articulation!

That may be so but it is written in the violin part that it is impossible to play this piece correctly because it is called “Gypsy Airs” and could not possibly hold true to the composer’s intentions if you didn’t play more freely and with more rubato with a decent amount of respect to what’s there. Kerson does a good job of adding just enough freedom to where he can perfectly interpret it the way it was written and the way he wants to play it!
Holy moly that upbow staccato- 😍😍😍🎻
Incredible.
Heifetz would have cracked his violin on his knee.

Mesmersing!
Интересно, этот скрипач когда-нибудь слушал записи самого Сарасате? Вряд ли такая интерпретация понравилась бы автору этой пьесы.
A lot of super talented young violinists like Teo, Himari and Cloe among many others. Kerson is more akin to the rarefied air as Stern or even Heifetz.
WHY IS THERE AN AD IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS PERFORMANCE 😢
Speechless...
