I grew up in Mylapore in the 50's and had the absolute pleasure of listening to Sri Mani singing in Kapali Kovil, Theppam and other venues. He made this his trade mark song. Many have sung this song afterwards. But his version is and will always be my favorite. I am listening to this rendition and for the first time in 65 years feel that this is as good as it gets. What a gem ! Just about the best rendition. God bless you. You are not just singing but are upholding a culture, a way of life maintaining a link that has been handed over centuries and uplifting.

Yes;. "GA" Never takes Nor let go anything lightly and does everything so intensely going upto 200% exerting fully and thus making everyone of us admire and rever her efforts. So, No Surprise when her Mentor-Sister "RA" too enjoying it thoroughly from the closest quarter even while she too is going too deep in a meditation mode while singing.

Superb by RaGa sisters. Sri Madurai Mani Iyer had left such a stamp on this rendition that it is impossible to not to compare with the ultimate master. Ever RaGa will willingly agree that they are merely paying a homage to MMI. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

I'm being forced to write after listening for 4th time . This rendition is blowing my heart like that a breeze blows a flower . Such is the impeccable rendition of yours . Ranjani mam you execute the neraval so nicely that I'm only smiling listening to it . The alapana is nailed by gayatri mam . Sprightly wonderful swarams and its conversational. Yes, madhurai Maniiyars kacheri . means we would be waiting to listen to ಸರಸ, ಸಾಮದಾನ and enjoy like anything, so was his devine rendition. Enjoyed now also.

I hv heard many times at Trichy. Nandrudaiyan temple where The great Music Mastro Sri Madurai Mani Iyer sang this song It is still green in my memory his neraval and Kalpana Swarah no one can forget even though years hv passed. I am happy to hear from Raha sisters in the same flamboyant way . Long live this song and Raga sisters.

Ghandharva gaanam. Vibrant. Blissful. Lifts your soul to a star studded and full moon illuminated akaash and leaves u there. ( Don't want to come down.) A throaty SHABBASH from a humble rasika.

Ahaa. Through this rendition, got a feel of Madurai Mani Iyer singing this Kirthanam with Pazhani Subramanya Pillai. With that majesty, both akka's have sung the Kirthanam.

My memories went back to Madurai Mani days. Raga sisters did full justice to this song.

Awesome. There is absolutely no doubt RaGa sisters are the benchmarks for classism and perfection. It's like the Dr MBK of the 1960-70s. Or MLV of a similar genre. What RaGa sisters are absolutely different from all contemporary singers is their pronunciation. Sa is Sa. Tyagaraja wrote Chesi so it's perfectly pronounced while most call Sa as Sha. That pseudo sanskritisation is a crime. Salute RaGa sisters The best part of these concerts is the brilliant accompaniments. Violinist enhances the output-value of the convert. He is totally brilliant. Ghatam and Mridangam follow up for honours. And the humble bee-like contribution of Harini. She is blessed unlimited

Both are made for each other in their style of perfect rendition. MMI has remarkably sung this now this Duo made it. God bless both of you.

I grew up listening my father rendering this keerthana soulfully among others! He left us July 24th 2021 a month after celebrating his 92th birthday. I am lost & heartbroken. I didn't get a chance to be with him due to Covid as NRI. I would do anything to be with my dad just for day!! Thank you RAGA, for the solace & comfort you bring to my aching heart!

My father left after his 92, I lived with him but I still have the same feeling like you will do anything for 1 day with him. Take care, we all think work is everything and miss bigger things in life

Heart melting rendition. உள்ளம் உருகுதையா இந்த குரலை கேட்கையிலே. Thyagaraja's entreaty to LORD RAMA are wonderfully delineated in the rendition. carnatic music may not be monetarily benefiting but undoubtedly would plunder the 💕 of rasikas even if limited when sung by RAGA
