Michel Legrand composed a song that not just Sarah Vaughan sang. Sammy Davis Jr., Bobby Sherman and the Curb Congregation. Differnt styles and a delight to here them and the pleasing words.. As I can guess many other sing have sang Sweet Gingerbread Man . Allan and Marilyn Bergman, wrote delightful lyrics to a confectionary character.

Vids like this are priceless. Only on youtube would we have the opportunity to see these gems. I love Sarah. Any opportunity to see and hear her perform, is truly a treat. This doesn't dissapoint. Thank you so much for posting this.

Are you sure this was recorded in '72 ? I'm thinking that the French verse she recited was popularized by Labelle in their hit single "Lady Marmalade". Only the song wasn't released until 1974. Wondering how she learned that verse if not from Labelle? Certainly not in French class! Lol.

Yes, it was recorded in a studio in Los Angeles during the recording of the album "Sarah Vaughan and Michel Legrand" and it's from the TV show "Top à Michel Legrand" broadcasted in april 1972

Butchered? The Mike Curb Congregation makes the Partridge Family sound like heavy metal. She nailed this song. MCC version is way over produced. This is a simple version sung with the composer.
