Nope, not watching. My dad was institutionalized in the same asylum Kesey was in. Dad said the Football Player with the invisable cast on his arm, Chief, and The Big Nurse were real people. TBN apparently was a lot more horrifically scary than what's been portrayed in the book or movie.

I dont think. If an actor is convincing enough, you cant feel the difference. There´s so many examples of that. Straight actors that were convincing. I think that some straight actors do not want to be attached just with gay characters. Sharon most of her career was attached to sexy beautiful bomshell, that did sexual things. Most people didnt recognized her as a good actress till she did Casino. Casino was her breaking point of that attachment. Darren Criss which is a straigh actor and done few gay convincing roles, said that is tired of gay roles. Because most of the offers are just gay roles, and he wants to do other roles. I guess that for LGTB people if a actor is not LGTB it breaks the fantasy and ending having the idea "another straight actor pretending to know our struggles, when he/she had the privilege not to be harass for his/hers sexuality"

I was very impressed with Cynthia Nixon's performance in this series. I thought she gave a wonderful performance, as did the entire cast.

sarah literally did such a flawless job playing mildred.

I think this is one of the shows where the critics' reviews dont matter at all. The people loved it! I love it. All the actors are just so brilliant especially Sarah Paulson.

Unfortunately that’s how it is in Hollywood. Ratched’s cast totally subverts the norm of having a mostly male cast with a young pretty female eye candy by having mostly women and a young attractive male (Edmund)

yo if ur calling a cast of more women eye candy I think that’s ur problem and really quite disgusting.

I am a big advocate for representation yet all I could think about was Sarah’s amazing ability to make the character to be so sympathizing... this is not only an astonishing performance but an immersive one.

Just finished Ratched. Loved it! We get an extra series of AHS before season 10! What’s not to love??! Ms. Paulson was amazing, and sophie okonedo actually scared the crap out of me! Ratched is actually SCARY!!!! Loved every minute of it! Also, Ryan Murphy is the only Caucasian director/writer/producer that continually creates amazing Asian characters that aren’t offensive with none of the usual Hollywood stereotypes. Jon Jon Briones is amazing! These are proud, smart, tragic, and very human characters! Ratched is awesome! And gorgeous!

yes it did feel like another season of ahs but i think it's because i watched it right after watching ahs lol!

I was SO happy when I saw Cynthia. I had no idea she was going to be in this & I am SO GLAD!!

I wished I had paced myself with Ratched, after watching the last episode last night I am longing for the second series ...there has to be another one! Absolute and clever casting . I actually thought that 'they'(no spoilers here!) were a real life couple, so genuine and natural .The DID performance was stunningly brilliant too. A very wise watch to savour.

I know right! This is one of, if not the best portrayals of DID I've ever seen... obviously it was dramatized for the show, but still, what an absolutely stellar performance.

Sarah is an Icon and she did what Icons do which is practically blow up Netflix from the number of people who binged watched it was incredible!!!!

Here I thought I couldn't love Sarah more and then she goes name-dropping Killing Eve, gahhh

I don’t think Mildred Ratched is a monster. I used to have mixed feelings about this character cause i was like what’s happening really with this character, at first, because we don’t have enough information, i was distant and very suspicious about the character... but yeah as the episodes go on you actually see the human side if her. Sarah paulson is a very good actress, she played this character very well All of the actresses on this show were amazing, especially Sarah paulson! I love the energy between these women, sharon is glowing, nixon too, they are all so beautiful inside out.

the show was a 10 before i even watched it but WOWWWW 👏👏 the quality, the characters, THE OUTFITS. truly blown away 💕

I watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest after I finished Season 1 with Ratched. I certainly hope the direction of Sarah Paulson’s iteration eventually gets to Louise Fletcher’s amazingly villainous Nurse from Hell. She already has the icy cold stare and the manipulation down pat. I wonder if we’ll at least see McMurphy down the line near the end of the series. Cuckoo’s Nest is one of my favorite movies of all time so hopefully it leads to that. Everyone killed it in this show. Plus as a Flip myself, seeing a Filipino actor and actually hearing Tagalog (no matter how small) in a huge show like this is definitely rewarding.

I am 100% here for ANYTHING Ryan Murphy puts out. On an artistic level, I wholeheartedly trust him. 💕

Sarah Paulson plays a great villainess. Mildred Ratched is beautiful, badass, brilliant, adorable, funny, quirky, witty and amazing. I adore Mildred as much as Sarah herself. And I do hope for a second season of Ratched soon!

I agree. I’ve only ever seen him in Ratched and he is a great actor.

Read a bunch of reviews and was nervous that the show would be a mess. What a load of shit all the criticism turned out to be!! I get how this might not be some ones genre but the series is fantastic! It's so well acted, the visuals are crazy beautiful, it's just another fantastic move on Sarah Paulsons part and everyone involved killed it 😍

Calling this series fantastic is the load of shit. It’s out of focus, style over substance and no respect for the historical accuracy. Let alone the original piece. Just another Netflix series pushing current politics in the most random and tacky way. And don’t get me started on the acting. It was anything but special. Bad even, but mostly due to a poor script and directing.

Her playing the part of Ratchet was extremely important imo because she can kill it playing any part. She is one of the best out there. Whatever character she plays in very convincing. I highly doubt I would of watched AHS if Paulson wasn't in them. You have to admit that everything she acts in is in a class of it's own.. And add Sharon Stone? Wow!! They were both fabulous and devious to the core. 😈 💚

I watched up to episode 5 last night. Really good show!

We watched the whole series in 2 days. I absolutely loved it!! But why are people only doing 8 to 10 episodes now? I watched mini series when there were 20 to 25 episodes or more. The thing I hate most about Netflix is you have to wait so long for the next series and you basically forget the series before because it takes so long. Many forget or just lose interest after a certain amount of time. I really like Paulson and she is one of my very favorites, so it's not likely that I'll forget or brush it off but all of these shows with minimal episodes aren't going to stay popular for long because of the long wait until the next.

Cynthia Nixon,I honestly had questions about your casting as Gwendolyn but you put me in my place as soon as you hit the screen. I applaud your efforts to creating the perfect Gwendolyn. And lucky you, you have met the irreplaceable Sarah Paulson.

One of the BEST shows ever on Netflix! Though completely different, it's right on par with Ozark.

I watched the film a few nights ago and it is still with me. The casting is pure genius but Sophie Okonedo (sp) is absolutely fucking DOPE!
