I still remember the day when it was reported that Elisabeth Sladen died. The reporter said ‘I think that a lot of children will need a hug this morning.’ She was right. RIP.

A lot of us adults needed one as well. A little bit of our childhood died that day. I hope she knew how much she was loved by so many people as ‘THE companion’

I like how the way they meet in the time warrior and in school reunion is basically the exact same

I once had the honour of meeting Elizabeth Sladen at a comic con a year before her death. She acted motherly towards her fans, telling us how much she appreciated our support and how many little girls looked up to her as a role model. It was a very touching moment that brings a tear to my eye every time I look back on it. Rest in peace Sarah Jane Smith ❤

I wish that Sarah-Jane had met the Twelfth Doctor too. I think the chemistry between them would’ve been awesome. 👌

Fitting that the duration of her time with The Doctor he had no bow tie but it started the ending with it.

I’ve just noticed that the Doctor wore a bow tie in both his first and last encounters with Sarah-Jane.

It funny how loudly people spoke in classic Who whilst pretending they were having a secret conversation. I imagine it must’ve been due to not having microphones that were sensitive enough.

Yep. The microphones were modern. It is a theatrical style the BBC still had in the 70s. Look at, Six Wives of HenryVIII, Upstairs Downstairs, I Claudius, or if you prefer lighter fair Faulty Towers and Are You Being Served.

Am prejudiced, have seen quite a few companios. Still think Sarah Jane was one of the best. Didn't run round screaming, had a mind of her own and didn't mind telling the doctor where to get off if he was wrong. R.I.P Elisabeth.

Not much to do with Sarah Jane. But you know Clyde still has that Artron energy. So if the Doctor is ever in trouble again he can rig up another of those machines and switch with Clyde again to get help. And I am now imagining a 32 year old Clyde writing comics and suddenly ending up on the planet Dido or wherever.

I would never give her away. 🥰

Elizabeth Sladen was always my favorite companion....but then I found Felicity Kendall the cutest BBC actress of the era. They're both a type.

I didn't realize the "John Smith" pseudonym went back that far! (I started with Tom Baker.)

Sladen gives an incredible performance in “Genesis”, maybe her best. My favorite Sarah Jane episode is probably “Ark In Space”.

She barely aged at all. How much time passed between those two clips?

@@AJACK42 If you're looking for a video idea, you could take Jo Grant's final appearance (Green Death) and (6 months later) Sarah Jane's first (Time Warrior) then compare how they aged in 37 years.until Death of the Doctor.

Isn’t it amazing. No matter when she appeared SJS never looked as if she had barely aged and was trapped in her own time loop. Jo on the other hand…..

Katy Manning was in a very bad car accident in her teens and had to have facial reconstruction. It's no wonder that Elisabeth Sladen aged better.
