Sarah Jakes Roberts on how to tap into the power of your potential

Author and pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts joins Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager and opens up on how she overcame insecurity and reflects on her own resilience. "So often we get stuck on what we did but we don't look at the context of why we did it. I feel like I spent 10 years grappling with the power of shame, the power of insecurity, the power of anxiety," she says. She then shares the three steps from her new book "Power Moves," that could lead you to living your most powerful life.

My coworker sent me a clip so I had to find the interview so from someone that has begged and pleaded with God to show me my purpose this clip that may have lasted 2-3 minutes gave me the answer. When I heard that the sirens the chains and the flood gates opened. It was like going down memory lane. For each season in my life I was purpose for my husband my children coworkers strangers who I prayed for in hallways. Spreading the good news to unbelievers. I am purpose. This literally has set me free of thinking I was not walking in it. I am definitely getting the book

I haven’t read the book to know the specifics but being on this platform would have been the perfect opportunity for her to glorify Jesus! She didn’t mention the name of Jesus once….it was all self. We can never find power in and of ourselves. We will always fail…these “pastors” and “teachers” of the Word need to start telling people the truth! Truth is the only way to freedom! We only receive power when we receive Jesus into our lives. No other way….”God has spoken once Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God” Psalm 62:11

So glad someone mentioned this!! It’s not about us! It’s all about Jesus! We are in fact weak. HIS power works in us. We do not have no power on our own. ”Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.“ ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our number one issue as Christians is the jumping to a conclusion, making it fact, and expressing it without content. I would highly recommend that you actually listen to her interview. She makes it clear that the power she is talking about is not saying you as an individual is powerful, but everything has power. We give power to fear, shame, and guilt, and we have the inner strength to challenge those powers. As a clinical therapist, this is very helpful as many of us are struggling due to feeling powerless. She also mentioned praying. Adding our Almighty Father into the equation. Please note that Paul prayed to God and shared his most vulnerable feelings before God spoke to Him to let him know that His Grace is sufficient. Many people are leaving the faith because we christianise everything. Allow people's vulnerability to show, encourage them, support them through it, help them reconnect to their inner strength, and then we can introduce them to Jesus. Even Jesus commands us to ask Him into our hearts. He doesn't hover or force His way in because He wants us to learn to identify our weaknesses, our pain, and our need for a Savior.

@@nathalieinelus7930 This woman is supposed to be a pastor. A pastors primary mandate is to simply preach the Gospel of the Kingdom via the unadulterated Word of God on every available platform. Unto those who have the Spirit of Discernment it is grievously clear that her convictions are powered by the spirit of the new age. Without the spirit of discernment which many sadly lack what she said sounds like solid advice and Godly wisdom since she's a 'pastor'. Many will be misled. I pray that people seek God for themselves. He's the sole answer to all problems and not lean on others for counsel. A PhD from Harvard or Yale is meaningless in spiritual matters. I can absolutely jump to a conclusion and make it a fact because I tested what she said with what the Scriptures say. It is written...Dear friends , do not believe every spirit , but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world (1 John 4:1). If she said the source of power within a person to overcome any adversity is from the Holy Spirit resident in them, then I would have given her a round of applause. One who is of God would have said that all power comes from and belongs to the Lord. Not that we can manifest this power on our own. It is written.... Not by might , nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of Hosts. Zechariah 4:6. It is written.... Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. Jerimiah 17:5 . Also, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life...He is the Alpha and Omega. the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End...in ANY situation He should be introduced First and the ONLY solution.

@@anikaneeks yes! Many do not understand how easily the heart is deceived. The Word says in 2 Timothy 3:13, “But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” Pastor Sarah does mention praying to God briefly in the second half of the segment, but here she most certainly had an opportunity to declare the full power and awesome works of God on a platform like this, which could have a major impact on those who don’t know Him.

Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, obey, respect, and honor You. Bless me to always trust You, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. God cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You or breaks Your heart. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, in Jesus' name.❤

The verse below is a great example that sinners had absolutely NOTHING to do with Christ SAVING them from their sins. God had demonstrated His awesome Grace towards an UNDESERVING world, in HOPE that they would receive His SALVATION. He is extremely GRACIOUS to BOTH the SAVE as well as the UNSAVED alike, but you and I both know that even though God is GRACIOUS towards unbelievers, they will NOT be SAVED according to the scriptures. In addition, GRACE is a part of God's CHARACTER, it is NOT a person 😁....Please, I encourage you to read the book of Jude, hopefully you will receive an understanding of the TRUE purpose of GRACE. 📖 Ephesians 2:8-9 📖 For by GRACE are ye SAVED through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. 🙏🏾🕊❤️🙏🏾🕊🙏🏾❤️

It's just sad that the world will always refer to your mistakes before they acknowledge your strength, "you were pregnant at 13", what does that have to do with with writing the book on Power moves. It's like a person can never really be without people scratching and opening wounds that have long healed. Is it a marketing strategy? Do they get better viewership by digging up the past? Your interview must be attract more viewers when you dig up past hurt on people pretending to honour them for coming a long way, gosh media annoys me like that.
