Not changed since and all is good. Anyone who thinks the world of “success” and business revolves around a shirt and a suit needs to seriously think outside of their box. So many successful people doing their thing and not forced to be what they are not. If his pitch/biz was a banger he could have been standing there in speedos and a cowboy hat it would make no difference if the investors can smell success.

He has offered 6% so probably wasn't prepared to go above about 15. He didn't make a counter offer because it was obvious that there was no counter offer he could make the Touker would accept. Consultancy is the way forward if you want to make money. Equip yourself with expertise that people are willing to pay for and the overheads are minimal. I set up my own business after getting 15 years of experience and only used $30k for home office equipment and insurances etc and now make $300k revenue with approx $250k profit, which is in the top 1% of earners in Australia. I could scale the business and employ, but why would I? I make more than pretty much everyone that comes on dragons den and own 100% of the company, with far less stress and bullshit of being an employee. Also the tax benefits are awesome.

Used to be a time when the Dragons offered alternative offers/valuations often when they liked a product but not the deal. Feels like this has changed a lot? Why not just make a counter offer if Steven or Peter liked the product?

Sara is a lovely person. She has put her neck on the line to defend an entrepreneur MULTIPLE times. I know this was in her second or third season, not the debut one (when she was in her blue dress) where she was kinder and more sympathetic to entrepreneurs, but if James had given the Dragons more solid facts, then she wouldn't have done what she did. That tells you she smells a RAT. His appearance and words seem very typical for the modern type of entrepreneur but his personality is probably horrendous deep down if he is THAT cocky on live TV. He probably makes fun of the Dragons behind the scenes. If James actually gave evidence for his valuation rather than waffling and making stuff up without actually showing the evidence, Sara and Stephen wouldn't have gone after him. And this is the problem with environmental companies - often they are selling you something that's simply impossible to make or exist. He was clearly hiding something and his cocky self-centred personality wasn't helping him. It made the Dragons feel on edge. I'm confused how he got so much money...like a lot of it is his own money!
