SAR Helicopter in Emergency Mission on Color Fantasy, World's largest Cruise-Ferry!

I was aboard the Norwegian ferry "Color Fantasy" on July 25th, 2014. On the Baltic Sea that evening a SAR Helicopter came from Denmark to pick up a sick passenger. All that happened on open sea and the ship did not reduce speed. The helicopter itself did not land.
The "Color Fantasy" was on the way from Oslo, Norway to Kiel, Germany, and is the so called "Largest cruise ship with car deck". Together with its sister ship "Color Magic", she operates the Kiel-Oslo route for Colorline on daily service.
Rettungseinsatz eines SAR Helikopters auf der Fähre "Color Fantasy", mit der ich am 25.07.2014 auf dem Weg von Oslo nach Kiel war. Abends kam der Hubschrauber vom dänischen Militär auf offener See um einen kranken Passagier abzubergen. Mehrere Retter seilten sich ab, der Heli drehte eine Runde um dann die Personen aufzunehmen.
Die "Color Fantasy" verkehrt mit dem Schwesterschiff "Color Magic" täglich auf der Route Kiel-Oslo und nennt sich selbst das "Größte Kreuzfahrtschiff der Welt mit Autodeck".

Great video, good that people can get help. But, this ain't a Seahawk helicopter - RDAF / Royal Danish Air Force haven't got any, yet. They are ordered and in the process of building and deliverance. This is acutally RDAF AugustWestland AW-101 (EH-101) also called "Merlin" and the Danish SAR helicopter

Achja dieses schöne Maschinen Geräusch der Color Fantasy kommt mir nur zu gut bekannt vor! Da hattest du natürlich Glück sowas mal zu erleben. Das sieht man eher selten. Hab sowas nur mal auf der SuperSpeed2 der Color Line auf der Fahrt von Larvik nach Hirtshals gesehen! Nur sind wir da umgekehrt und langsam zurück gefahren, um es dem Helikopter einfacher zu machen. Sieht aufjedenfall sehr spektakulär aus! Ein wirklich schönes Video! :)

My god lol, i was on the boat when this happen, me and my dad sat in our room and was just like "what the hell is that sound". We didnt get to see heli near the pad tho, we were to late so it was like 100 feet away.-..

Now a huge factor plays in the landing of a helipad. Wind speed, and the speed the boat is traveling at. Plus the massive amounts of down thrust a helicopter makes. I don't know shit about helicopters landing and all that but I know theres a good reason they didn't land on the helipad. And I assume its got something to do with wind

Helicopter max takeoff weight is about 15t, and the writing og the helipad says 12t. But there can be many reasons why they stay airborne.

The main reason would be space in the landing area and how much weight the pad can handle. It looks like the inner circle say 12 and the outer 23 which is diameters or radius, I am thinking radius so 46 feet diameter. This helicopter has a 61 foot diameter rotor so there is no way it would fit in that area.
