    Something about his stride was different this year. Been watching film from rookie season to date and I don’t think I can exactly put my finger on it, but notice how earlier in his career his lower body movements more resembled a wheel rolling along the turf. This year it seems as if his feet stick the ground harder in a more up and down fashion. Maybe as a result of him focusing so much on knee and ankle rehabilitation and, consequently, less F&M focus which could lead do his muscles being more tight. Still an above average running back even during this rehabilitation year. Hoping he comes to the 2022 season fully refreshed. He’s the whole (entire) reason I started watching football again back in 2018. Love this guy on and off field

    Yeah his stride was very different this year he also was scared to run in to others. And like you said he’s worried about his knee and ankle. I think he will be for sure healthy next season

    @@stiffysville77 Yes, definitely seemed protective of that knee and wary of contact! But hey, our supporting comments are here before the rise back to greatness lol. I remember him (Barkley) saying something like “there’s people out there (fans) that say positive and negative things about me right now. I just want them to remember their words when I get back to where I’m striving to be.” Felt his pain in that one. From all too loved to ready to be cast aside with insults. It will be something to watch next season

    Not everyone is Adrian Peterson and can come back for a torn knee and put up 2000. Saquon with a full offseason to train…. Will be just fine next year.

    He's a genetic freak. His raw ability to move like he does, at his size, with his power is quite literally impossible. That's unfortunately his downfall. It's the bo jackson thing all over again. His body(mainly ligaments) can't handle the force exerted which has sadly led to the traumatized running. I hope the giants just let him take half of next year off to make sure he's completely back.

    One of the first things I noticed was that he seems more scared of contact I see him stepping out of bounds a lot more then his rookie year so maybe it’s not a physical issue with him I know that his oline is really bad but if he trusted his blockers on some plays he would not just be a big Run guy but a consistent 6-10 yard runner and then mix the big runs with it

    +C hel THIS. He is definitely running away from contact, doesn't run through tackles, lower his shoulder, or shed. He showed promise the first year or two, but now he is the NFL equivalent of the NBA's Delicate Derrick Rose.

    They hired Joe schien and daboll from buffalo. I just hope with that connection they grab a player like Barkley from the Giants. He's a play maker we need let singletary and Moss be our 2nd and 3rd backs they'd thrive in that roll. His speed and acceleration is what's missing out of the bills backfield. Singletary is elusive and shifty and finishes physically but doesn't have the acceleration to really threaten a defense steadily. Barkley and Allen would give me Jim and Thurman vibes forreal 💯

    If u watch his 2018 or 2019 film in comparison to this, u can obviously see that he is just flat out slower here. However, i find it interesting that Saquon shortened his stride in 2021 as compared to past years. In the past, he would efficiently eat up yards with his long leg strides. However, in 2021, it’s all short, choppy strides where he no longer outraces anyone, but instead CHOOSES to run with the defender and rely on his strength to push past guys, which ended up with him absorbing more hits and reduces his breakaway runs

  • @marcoslaureano5562

    @marcoslaureano5562

    I have been and I don't see him that much slower. I'd say he's about 93%-95% what he was - which is still better than the majority of backs in the league. With a good o-line and offensive scheme, he'll thrive. Last year was more about lack of blocking than him being slower. It's not like any one of our other backs looked or did any better. Tha majority of teams in the NFL would love to have a versatile weapon like him.

  • @marcoslaureano5562

    We get a serious o-line and Daniel Jones and Saquon will get back to rookie form, I guarantee it. Anytime they got some decent blocking last season, they made good things happen. I mean Jones has had a terrible o-line all three of his seasons and still has a 63% completion rate and has thrown for way more TDs than interceptions throughout his 3 seasons - and he's been through all kinds of different coaches and systems which is not helpful at all either. He's also tough as hell and has the right mindset to play in NY. Even last year which was awful, he had more TDs than interceptions. The last two seasons have not been his fault. They had a mediocre team in his rookie year and he had one of the best rookie QB seasons in recent memory. Saquon and DJ needs an o-line. Saquon's still about ninety to ninety five percent of what he was and I'm sure he's working his tail off this offseason. Now that we have an offensive minded coach, we can really use weapons like Golloday and Kadarius Toney - the way they should be used. If we get o-line upgrades through the draft and FA, and a edge rusher - next year will be fun even if we don't end up with a great record.

    He is too dang big and strong to not use his stiff arm more and power through the tacklea. This isnt college where you can play two hand touch. If nick chubb can be powerful and shifty and these guys are pratically the same size and strength wise, he can do likewise. Just being SOFT. Far too much potential. Dalvin cook is running harder than him and is 20 pounds lighter
