Sappemeer - House on the Noorderstraat in Sappemeer destroyed by fire
SAPPEMEER - A fierce blazing fire on Saturday morning early destroyed a detached house on the Noorderstraat in Sappemeer. One of the residents was slightly injured.
At the time of the fire, the five residents were at home. Four of them remained unharmed, the fifth, who was still trying to save some things, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
The fire brigade was notified of the fire at 05.20. The house was completely ablaze. Because the fire threatened to skip to the houses next to it, they had to be evacuated. The house to the left of the fire was most threatened, but it was not opened. To make sure that the residents were not at home, fire brigade forced the door. There was indeed no one at home.
The house is almost completely laid in the ashes. The outside walls are still there. The house to the left of it has suffered some smoke and water damage. The fire brigades of Hoogezand and Zuidbroek have fought the fire, whereby water from the Winschoterdiep was also pumped. At half past six the fire was under control. Whether it is a monumental building is unknown.

zielig voor die mensen dat ze geen huis meer hebben en de andere twee huizen er naast hebben jullie goed nat gehoeden in het buiteland houden ze op somige pleken waar een huis in brand staat houden ze het huis er naast soms niet nat
o garm voor de mensen die daar woonen toch
Het lijkt mij dat de hoogwerker in eerste instantie wel ver van het object af staat.Wat was de reden hiervoor?
Men moet altijd uit kijken

The Fire Fighters in the United States should wear the same type of helmets that these guys wear. The helmets used in the USA are way outdated.

Everything of the FF in the US are outdated, include the way how they work (running around and doing nothing until its too late). US can learn from the high performance and military precision firefighters work here. I'm a volunteer, but have to work like the professional FF has to do. The FF academy is very hard, but its worth it.
gewoon wachten tot heel het huis afgebrand is en dan beginnen met blussen? Raar...

Margo Vandevelde, de bescherming van de belendingen heeft een hogere prioriteit. Je kan je materieel en je mensen maar op één plaats tegelijk inzetten en dan zal je toch moeten kiezen voor voorkomen van uitbreiding boven het blussen van een pand dat eigenlijk als verloren kan worden beschouwd. Plat gezegd voorkomen dat je, in plaats van met één, met drie brandende huizen komt te zitten.

Les èèn bij hulpverlening: Zorg dat het probleem niet groter wordt ..... Dus inderdaad: Eerst zorgen dat de brand zich niet uitbreidt, dan pas blussen......
ik woon daar ook in de buurt slochterstraat
Daar gaat je mooie huis( teminste ik vid het mooi) hoe is eigenlijk die brand ontstaan??

***** Thank you! I have been a fireman in Texas for 27 years now. It still breaks my heart to see a family lose all their belongings, but at least no one was maimed or killed. Best Wishes to you.
