I stayed at SANU 2nd Home Karuizawa 1st, a new location created in May 2023. I just remembered that I had to arrange a rental car this time, so I stayed here by public transportation.
Although the car-dispatch app is not widely used in Karuizawa, cabs always wait at the cab stand, so it was very convenient to get a taxi immediately.
The nearest station is Shinano Oiwake station, which is about a 20-minute walk, and the nearest convenience store is about a 15-minute walk, so it would be difficult to walk there in the winter, but in the early summer, it would be no problem.
Karuizawa is a beautiful place. I want to stay at SANU's base in Kita-Karuizawa as well.
