So, I bought my wife an almost new BMC Alpenchallenge Amp Cross One from a bike shop listing on pinkbike after doing a bunch of research on it. It hits the nail on the head and was exactly what I was going for (it replaced her Rocky Mountain Instinct Powerplay BC edition since she did not take to mountain biking). It doesn't appear that BMC makes these bikes any longer...there's kind of a road version which I suppose could be converted to flat bar. Anyway, I keep my eye out for used ones and this Skitch is the first bike that I've seen that is essentially the same bike. It's even 5lbs. lighter than the BMC...but same idea, carbon frame, mid drive motor, slick design, kind of a do-it-all commuter that is also super fun. Are you familiar with the BMC's that I'm talking about? Would you compare them to the Skitch? They don't look as cool since the battery is not integrated but otherwise they are pretty clean and stealth...maybe the external battery in some ways is an advantage.
Put simply, I am excited to go to bed so I can wake up to bike to work every day on this bike. Many adventures to come!
Does the Skitch allow to add rear racks for extra storage? Meaning if I wanted to use this as my everyday ride (instead of car) for groceries, errands, or even overnight camping trips?
Nice bike, but expect high theft rate in city if you are parking publically, no matter the lock. Nice bike tough, especailly commuing with private parking!
Love this eBike for a multitude of reasons. Generally speaking eBikes are much too heavy for my liking due to my size and weight. When considering a road bike lightness has always been one of the top considerations. Price point is a bit disappointing even with all its awesome qualities and I'll wager many will have to "live without the SKITCH" for that reason alone. As a few more get out into the market place as "demos" or used I believe they'll be a top contender for resale. So, don't hold onto your SKITCH too long. We all should have the opportunity to own and enjoy the SKITCH at some point before the skies turn red, legs wobble and we awake from the sounds of birds in the early mornings. 🌬
Does the Skitch connect via Bluetooth to a computer for additional data like cadence, mileage, precise battery charge?

I would also like to know this. I’m used to see % of battery left. It’s helpful when managing battery life.

@stano49, I purchased this with the drop bar, it's an amazing bike. Yes, you can get all the data on your Garmin or Wahoo head unit. It connects easily by Bluetooth to both a cellphone or computer. I actually got 100 miles on the first full charge in Echo mode. It's one of the best bikes I've ever had in the last 30 years.

@@zipperhead7091 wow, 100 miles on the green setting? That's amazing. I have one as well and am planning a 70 mile trip in the coming month. It's nice to hear that I may have that option with some battery to spare!
If you only ride on pavement, what kind/size tires would be good on it?

I would drop down to 700x38 if its possible.

You could run straight road tires. Or you could run pathfinders in 32mm if you want a little cornering traction
cor linda . . . poderia ser single speed . . .
