I remember getting on the Mega and having this weird "way more nimble than it looks" moment. With that signature "feels very small even tho its my size" thing that most Santa Cruz bikes have. I choose the Bronson for the 27.5 and i love it; but on a rewind and having had the change to try before, i'd probably've gone with the 29er Mega. Dope bike. Super fun to ride.

Performance wise I'd love to go with the Evil, but how can you beat lifetime?

If they had other frames in house that fit the same specs they would not rush to give the s works out. Think of it business wise if they just sent out top of the line frames every time something went wrong they would have a loosing business strategy. It's all based on what the sales rep and the bike shop can get their hands on. Don't go believing that any of these corporations have anything but profit and cost cutting in mind. It was luck to upgrade and from specialized's standpoint they have to regtably eat the cost.

@@gregorypatzelt6964 In my experience be careful with a life time warranty. Depending on the brand and the situation they might have a stipulation where they say life time warranty but "life time of a bike is 3 years". So you effectively get a 3 year warranty. Or on the other hand you get this sort of palnned obsolescence where they know they will be changing models and bike styles before your bike is likely to break and then they just say "sorry we would help but we just don't have parts or can't make it work with our current design schemes" But realistically most modern bikes are good and you can't go too wrong no matter what.

I had to warranty a cracked 2 year old Stumpy frame-received current year and upgraded model. Spesh does a fantastic job on customer service...they have to.

@@deanallan48 sure- my bad habit II was @32 lbs aluminum. 27.5+ x2.8 maxxis recons 34 tooth with 11-46 cassette. 130 mm fork and rear shock. It always feels stable and holds it's line exceptionally well. Is more maneuverable in tighter twisty trails. The cons of bad habit are brakes are not great for long steeps. And the 130 rock shock is pretty easy to overwhelm going down multiple 18 " drops. I am 6'4" 222lbs. The hightower lt 150 mm front and back. 30 tooth and a 11x50 . Cassette. Handles speed, drops, chunk, and may not be any faster in climbs, but I've been able to climb a lot more places than the + bike, or my hardtail, with seemingly less effort. It's right at 30 lbs. The bike seems stiffer . It also is a huge confidence booster . I find myself looking for obstacles to see if it will plow over, and mostly it breezes through . Seems to like to go fast and holds speed well. The cons. Rock shock reverb . Takes more energy to get the 29ers rolling even though they are santa cruz reserve. It bucks at lower speeds. So I have to adjust my riding style and back the rebound way down.. I got it from Mike's bikes online and overall a good experience. I bought a bleed kit for the reverb stealth dropper, and a pnw dropper in case I get sick of bleeding the reverb . I put a brand x accend on the Cannondale and it works perfectly everytime even if the trigger is poor quality. I've got a 9.8 dropper on my Marin nail trail 6, and it works excellent also, but needs a small pump if air every few months.

@vancan Yo! Great video! Question from someone going from a 26” heckler to thinking about getting the latest tallboy..i like to hit dirt jumps on my heckler and my 20” BMX...I’m 5’9 3/4” with shoes on...do you have issues with your butt buzzing the rear tire? Is this technique, and just something that I will get used to eventually? Never owned a 27.5 or a 29 before.

I have hit the rear tire a few times, but you get used to it. Maybe take one out for a demo!

Bikes just get more numb and better at plowing when they get bigger. Guess thats why the megatower is more poppy and fun than the Enduro. Just less fast probably. Don’t get carried away with more travel is always better ;)

I’m actually glad you got the enduro, where I live there are just so many santa cruz bikes and megatowers make a big portion of those. It’s nice to see some variety

Brendan Tovey I think there are no bad bikes anymore. Its only personal preference. I never liked Santa Cruz but I did a testride an bought a Megatower. I love it, its the best bike for me. At first I wanted a Trek Slash or a YT Capra. I dont have any color matched Enve wheels or carbon wheels because I dont think they are worth the money. I bought the „cheap“ s kit and upgraded a Push 11-6 an a Grip2 damper. Thats whati wanted. Maybe a Push Acs3 will come but im not sure.

Theres is a image owning a santa cruz bike no boubt, but id say they are also super popular because the integrity of the frames and their insane customer support id say has topped any and all current brands out there

These days it's not what kind of bike are you riding? It's more like what color is your Santa Cruz?😅 Mine is some kind of ugly green but I love riding it very hard & putting it away wet🤘🏾
