Tbf in that last convo she wasnt manipulating her. By that point tywin already arranged for sansa and tyrion to be married, so the tyrell plot had failed. She was there just as a friend trying to cheer sansa up and helping her make the best out of the situation.

@@Irv350 Steal? Margaery wants to improve her family’s status, wealth and power but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s horrible. At this point in time, Sansa never wanted to rule over the North. She only wanted safety, which is definitely what Loras would’ve offered her.

I honestly believe that Sansa and Margaery really were friends and liked each other. Sure Margaery was manipulating her and using her claim to strengthen her house but at the same time, she never turned on Sansa or betrayed her, even when the betrothal between her and Loras didn’t happen and she never put her in danger either in any of her schemes. She was manipulative but not a cruel person at all because she didn’t actually kill anyone. She knew when to be cunning and intelligent but she also knew how to be kind and compassionate like how her grandmother was. And when her and Olenna’s secret plans for Sansa failed, Margaery was still nice to the girl even when there was no benefit in spending time with her since she was to wed a Lannister and not a Tyrell. Plus, she also knew how much Sansa would’ve benefited in marrying her brother anyway because even though he was gay, he still would’ve treated her with respect and dignity because he was a kind, chivalrous man who wasn’t genuinely cruel either. In the end, I believe Margaery genuinely cared for Sansa to an extent and really was a real friend to her in a way. She saw the benefits of having her on her and her family’s side but I also think she had a genuine fondness for the girl and felt truly bad for her too.

I like to think that Margery’s priorities were. 1: Herself and her family. 2: Friends (Sansa included). 3: People of the kingdom. If she could she would make everyone safe and happy. If she had to choose she would let the other two die without hesitation. She is generally a decent person but does not let morals get in the way of getting what she wants.

I agree. Although Margaery manipulated and used Sansa, she never put the girl in danger at all and she gave her an out in escaping King’s Landing. It was a power play but it would’ve benefited Sansa too. Her marriage to Loras would’ve given her protection, allow her to be far away from Baelish and the Lannisters, and she would be safe in Highgarden with a kind, chivalrous man in Loras. Despite his preferences, I don’t think he had any intentions on harming Sansa and I believe he felt bad for her position as well as Margaery. He seemed ok with the match overall and at best, he would’ve grown to care for Sansa as a surrogate sister. Their marriage would probably end up like Laenor and Rhaenyra’s marriage where they cared about each other but weren’t in love with each other. And the other Tyrells knew that Sansa would’ve benefited so well. In the end, I believe Margaery genuinely cared for Sansa and really was a true friend to her alongside Loras.

Well none of Margaery’s schemes have ever put Sansa in harm’s way or gotten her killed right? That speaks a lot for her character and despite the cunning queen having an agenda with Sansa, she never did turn on her did she? Even after the Tyrell plot to wed Sansa to Loras failed she still spent lots of time with her consoling her on her marriage to Tyrion. And even beforehand when her and Olenna were plotting to wed Sansa to Loras, they knew that Sansa would’ve been safe and happy in Highgarden than in King’s Landing and that she would’ve been with a kind, decent, chivalrous husband in Loras. Gay or not I believe Loras would’ve treated her well. And Margaery knew that as well. I believe she genuinely cared about Sansa on some level and to an extent and truly wanted to help her out as well as strengthening herself and her family’s positions.

7:50 this is why I don't like Sansa Stark. Who saved her in the throne room when Joffrey had his Kingsgaurd beat her, who offered her a way out of that marriage, which she refused? You can never convince me to give one shred of shit about Sansa. She didn't deserve what she went through but scenes like this, the way she treats people who have been kind to her. She just irritates me.

Well, it’s understandable why she would be a little wary of Tyrion. Despite his sympathy for her, he’s still a Lannister, born in the family that took away her’s. And before, both Joffrey and Cersei seemed to be caring towards Sansa but that was all a lie the moment they took her father’s head. Of course she would have doubts about Tyrion or anyone in King’s Landing.

@@garlantyrell6368 Tyrion literally saved her life and kept her safe. She had every reason to trust him.

@@garlantyrell6368Joffrey was an arranged marriage that fell apart after they ordered Ladys' death. Cersi was a hateful, jealous woman that picked on everyone. Sansa wasn't the only person to feel her wrath. The one person she chooses to trust wholeheartedly is Littlefinger, the man who told her "we're all liars here" which in fact could've locked her in a paranoid mindset. "Everyone is your enemy, everyone is your friend..."

Sansa wanted to appreciate Tyrion's kindness but thought he wasn't to be trusted since he was still a Lannister, the queen's brother, and the man who set the Blackwater ablaze for his inbred monster of a nephew. She had loved and trusted Joffrey and Cersei and had determined she didn't want to do that mistake again. Not to mention she had already been abused by Kingsguards on a daily basis and was pretty much traumatised. Again, Tyrion didn't necessarily defend Sansa for her sake, remember Jaime was still a prisoner of the Northerners back then and Tyrion probably feared they would retaliate if Robb or Cat found out about what Joffrey was doing to Sansa.

@@PhebusdesTours Tyrion absolutely defended Sansa for her sake, he pitied her and tried to help her. He even challenged the King in the throne room with multiple witnesses. After they married, did Sansa suffer? Was she beaten, tortured, or even harassed after the wedding? No. Because Tyrion protected her, like he promised he would. What Tyrion did at the Battle of Blackwater he did to save himself. He knew Stannis would've killed him, any man would've done the same. Though, I do understand and agree with you on that. Sansa would've likely held that against him because we all know Stannis wouldn't have her hurt. Ned did support his claim after all. Honestly, Tyrion was good for her. She was safe, for a while.
