Ngl, I honestly feel for Flowey. It really does feel like that sometimes in life, just going through the motions, hoping for dramatic change, only learn it will never happen. In that aspect, I guess I sort of see that pain.

The combination of all that determination and feeding on Asriel's dust gave it life as well as Asriel's memories. The other flowers fed on the dust too, but lacked the determination for it to matter.
