The Indian government obviously has the right sense and advisors in charting their rise as an economic power without disenfranchising the poor and the masses. Mr Sanyal certainly reflects the Indian governments concerns for sustained high growth with the poor and masses in always mind. India has made much progress in the last decade and wish them more in the next. There are no fast get rich schemes whether with corporations or nations, particularly nations with large populations and high poverty.

Great speech. Norms from a far away think tank should never curtail a production in another country nor it shouldn’t dictate to solve a problem in just one way. Usually those ways will not help a far away economy. This goes for international academics too! Study and invest on what you can improve in your economic scope and not follow voices unless there’s a common goal.

Sir, your statement about respecting contracts and related legal reforms is highly appreciated. However, just yesterday, Kerala Assembly has reportedly passed a new legislation banning taking over of houses which are used as homes in the case of loan defaults. Is it a good step? Will banks be willing to loan for home loans in Kerala? But, obviously , it is a politically very rewarding for the ruling party in Kerala, the left front.

When we talk about absolute poverty eradication schemes or direct support to the very poor, we often find more number of people are benefiting from these schemes than the actual eligible numbers. 1) So, whether the Govt has failed in getting correct data of the eligible number of beneficiaries ? 2) When we say we have included more beneficiaries under various schemes like free ration scheme etc , is it an achievement or a failure as it indicates there still exist a lot more poverty in the system even after so many years of various public welfare policies ?

India has ample of land . Problem is govt tries to acquire land on old settlement. New infra like expressways are easy to Build in North India atleast that also in UP. Where PPL want their land acquired due to good Prices by govt. But govt try to imporve Old cities with brownfield project r main problem in land acquisition. In cities PPL don't want to sell their land as often the prices are also not that good , as mkt prices r very high there. And most land are taken from Exisiting small bussinesses like shop which PPL don't want to sell. Only option is to develop Totally Greenfield cities in outer areas of old Important cities after acquiring Big chunk of land. Mayawati did same in development of Greater Noida. Old cities already r too dense and saturated for further urbanisation . New PPL coming from villages shd be given opportunity in New planned cities with Massive high rises of 40+ floors like china . Water shd be recycled at 80-90% rate in these areas .
