Hansal Mehta is a filmmaker known for his offbeat amazing cinema like Shahid, Omerta, and Aligarh and web series like Scam1992 and Baai from the Modern Love Mumbai. He began his career with a TV show Khana Khazana. His initial films didn't bring him in the spotlight but in 2013, Shahid starring Rajkumar Rao paved a new path for him. The film bagged the Best Film and Best Actor award at 61st National Film Awards.
Citylights and Omerta starring Rajkumar Rao and Aligarh starring Manoj Bajpayee were some of his finest works. His web series starring Pratik Gandhi, Scam 1992 was loved and appreciated by critics and masses equally.
