Sanjay Rajoura on Decoding India
He first took to stage in 2009 and ever since there has been no turning back for him. He left a ten years long career in software engineering and chose to pursue stand-up comedy as a full-time profession. And now he is a renowned stand-up comedian all over the country.
He is Sanjay Rajoura. Politics, religion, gender, caste, and feminism are some of the subjects he gives a funny twist to. But his comedy is not just some random comedy, his comedy is based on real life,
relatable topics and usually a satire to take home a message from.
In Decoding India this week, we talk to Sanjay Rajoura and take his views on the topic of nationalism, patriotism, freedom, democracy and his idea of India. Decoding India is about a person’s feelings and emotions towards their country. What they feel when they think or talk about their motherland. What does the country mean to them? What comes into their mind when someone says ‘nationalism’ or ‘patriotism’? It means different things to different people and this is what we want to explore. Sanjay has traveled all over the world and after having seen so much there will be a fresh take, with a little bit of comedy now and then on what his country means to him.

Sanjay Rajoura is a very Punchy Guy, he speaks harsh but always the truth. I guess many people will ridicule him and his views, And I don't want to blame them anyhow, because in order to even crack or decode Sanjay's views one need to have a good rational understanding, but leave it alone as 60-70% population of this country can't even write their names properly, what can we expect from them?. When I was of 17 years, I asked my dad for a new Motorcycle, he said to me that, bike is not only a machine to ride upon but also a responsibility and right now you are not eligible to ride one, so when I grew older and started earning I bought a bike and rode it with more maturity. Similarly! Technologies like social media/Internet/computers/mobiles are also a big responsibility, but many of us are using these unknowingly without even being eligible to use them, so a major misuse of such things is at very high. "Bandar ke haath mein Bandook doge toh woh kisi ko bhi goli maar dega....lekin Fauji ko bandook doge toh woh usse aapki raksha karega".

I agree with almost everything you said. I want to add that the major issue is not with uneducated people - it is with the thinking of the so called educated people. I live in Canada and all the new Indians that are migrating here are mind bogglingly stupid and they all have Engineering plus degrees. As rightly pointed out, they want affirmative action here but oppose it in India. My fear is that they will destroy the fabric of Canada and make it like India or the US.

Sanjay Rajoura has read the “Annihilation of Caste” by Dr. Ambedkar and “The Saint and the Doctor” by Arundhati Roy thoroughly. It’s all there in these books. Anyone who has read Dr. Ambedkar would completely agree to his honest views.

@wornohaulus It's pretty clear the Congress Party needs a very strong narrative and something spectacular atleast seemingly like the one BJP had back in 2014 but sadly they dont learn from their mistakes and prejudices and as a consequence of which they loose people like Scindia and many more like him who knows! It's really sad lekin Lagta hai ham baatein hi karte rehjayenge.
