I have sold a few units over the past 9 years but this is the first time I have ever seen it installed, you have just expanded my knowledge and I feel a whole lot more confident. Thank you ......... Great job acknowledging your mistake and correcting it. I also like how you kept the mistake in the video and didn't just replace it with the correct version. Seeing a mistake being done is easier to learn exactly why it's the wrong way, additionally it was great to see the wiring being done. Cheers!

I’m not doing a basement bathroom and I don’t have a septic tank. That said, for the past couple of years I always find it helpful to pull up a chair and learn something new from the amazing “Dr.” Thorman. He delights in his chosen field and delights people like me all over the world. Thank you Jeff, from Grantsville, Utah, USA.

I am watching from the UK, not because I want this system or even know if I could use a system like that here. I am watching because a month back I needed to know how to install laminate flooring and how to cut and measure skirting. I simply enjoyed your presentation style so much I have been watching a lot of your videos regardless of whether I need to the information just to learn the information. I love that your videos are long and fully explain things without lots of cuts and silly editing. I also appreciate how you speak in a way that is easy to follow.

Having a 30' static head lift capability is impressive. I'm shopping around because our son needs to put a shower and toilet in his basement, and the main drain is 4' off the floor. This is looking like a strong candidate for that situation. I would like to install a sump-style tub below the slab, so the large toilet pipe could feed down into it. The shower could go right in the side, but I see the large fitting is on top, so that's a challenge. Thanks for sharing, I've subbed. I like your presentation style, and I wish you all the best!

just discovered these yesterday. and when you describe it pumping stuff up to 50+feet vertically, I can't help picturing a vent pipe pumping poop water up to the roof, to spray all over the neighborhood. (as a writer I'm gonna have to use that in a story sometime!) It's straight out of Seinfeld !

I'm not sure if its connected to the toilet plumbing yet. We shall see. This Saniflo system seems great. All I think I'll need is the single unit for a toilet, vanity sink and a shower. Thanks so much. That video was awesome!

But, you got it sorted & it’s cool that you left the “mistake” in the vid. You could have edited that out in post to make it appear was one perfect vid......awesome you didn’t. The run is about 150' maybe 200' rise of about 8'. Ill dig it common trench with a pex line to supply water also. Electric is already out there. Just want to put a half bath in it so when we renovate it give more flexibility.

Jeff, for maintenance you should put shut offs on all intakes and outtake (no need for the dedicated vent, and now folks you know why it's dedicated). In case of service you can shut the flow of waste off and service the unit, SaniFlo doesn't show it. The written instructions mentions a shut off valve for the outtakes, but some of the pictures for the unit show shut offs on intakes as well. As for giving up a clean out, I wouldn't suggest that either as putting in a dedicate spot for the drain would of saved a clean out and taken about the same time. SaniFlo also makes stuff for marine applications, so I'm familiar with the name.

I’m putting a master suite at the far end of our home that is 68 feet from the main septic line. I either have to have a long run of 3” pipe that would be 1/8” drop per foot, which concerns me of clogs with that long run, or I do this Saniflo system. I would like to have the pump in the basement, and use a regular toilet to flush down from the first floor into the macerator pump, along with the shower, sink and clothes washing machine.

I'm looking at a system similar to this for replacing lines that are currently collapsed in my concrete basement floor. I want to rerun new lines for my kitchen, laundry and a wet bar and have it go to the main stack. The idea was to not have to bust up the finished basement to fix old clay tile pipes and have them go through my dropped ceiling in basement. I had a plumber come out and tell me that I would need to either bust up the floor and replace the existing lines to fix them or run lines through the ceiling connecting to a 3 inch main line that would hang low in the ceiling where it would be visible. A friend who is very diy savvy told me about these systems and said I should able to connect all the "New" lines to that system then run a smaller horizontal line to the main stack.

Big fan of your channel. I trying to replace my Sanipro unit. It used to support a small bathroom with shower sink and toilet. But it was built with no access to do any pump maintenance, so now I’m trying to figure out how to tear out the original without having to rip out too much drywall, but I think there probably isn’t a way around it. Do you have a videos on a more permanent or low maintenance unit and tricks to build in access?

Have been watching your videos on flooring. Thank you! I will be renovating my very tiny primary bathroom…1965…my plumber has asked to research this system. Might be best option with cast iron system and small area. Any problems develop since you installed the system? This will also be on 2nd floor of house.

Looking to add on-grade toilet (and maybe a sink) in a lean-to behind detached garage. Need to run it to house bathroom about 100 feet away. Seems like this is what I need, but the smaller, cheaper version.

I love your videos and stuff I really appreciate them and I’ve watched a lot to help guide me in the right direction for different home projects but I gotta say… where the eff did you install this? A dungeon? An abandoned Czechoslovakia prison? I’d have to really be in need to snap one off to use a toilet there.

We just moved into our home in southern Indiana from Florida....so yay we get out first basement. Problem is we are a family of 5 and only have one bath tub/shower upstairs. So we have already had someone come and frame and enclose a nice 5X12 space in our finished basement where we want to put a bath room. Vanity, shower, and toilet. You mentioned something that I didn't think about in that we are constantly getting clogs in the the toilets up stairs and we never considered that we could tie all the plumbing which fortunately is all on the back side of the house. I just have no idea where to begin with the plumbing. Do we call a plumber or a handyman to get the unit and or maceration toilet.

i watched this video because my family lives in a 4 bdroom 1 bath house with 6 people. Im looking for a way to add a second toilet to the house without having to do a full addition of another bathroom or apply for permits. something like this that flushed and ties into existing lines would be great but idk if the city would need a permit for it or not. Other wise a composting toilet is the only other thing i can think of but really dont want to have to deal with.

I was planning on putting one of these in a small cubby off the kitchen on the main floor as a half bath. There's not good access to the main in the basement unless I'm banging my head into the drain every time I'm walking to the basement. There is however access to a smaller sewer pipe that ties to the main which this toilet would be sharing this with the kitchen sink drain..wonder if that would be code.

Nice video. One question... everything I've seen on Saniflo toilet installs (Saniplus, Saniaccess, Sanibest) tells you to avoid hard 90's for the discharge pipe. They all suggest "sweeping" turns using 2 45's. Curious if this unit is different than the ones directly connected to the toilets?

Hey Jeff, love the channel. I have referenced your videos numerous times for great advice. Thanks for the videos! I had a question regarding the dmx dimple foundation wrap with wood subfloor system- I have the ability to run this entire system to the exterior walls in the basement as it’s unfinished. Would it be good to run the system in the portion where the bathroom will be or stop the subfloor at the bathroom walls and build those walls directly on the concrete? Any advice would be great. Thanks again

These are great alternatives to digging a pit if you cant run underground plumbing in your basement due to the sewer line being too high although they do fail prematurely occasionally from just normal usage (even without throwing things you shouldn't in there). I just had to replace my sanibest pro last week, only 5 years old. luckily it wasnt a messy failure i caught it quick, but the motor has just decided to die out on me. I just ordered the whole replacement tank which about about $1000 instead since the pump replacement was $799

I was thinking of getting the Sanibest Pro myself for a residential basement half bath. Any idea what maybhave caused the failure? Any suggestions on how to prevent a future failure? Any feedback from Saniflo? I thought this was supposed to have a ~10 year shelf life. How often are you using it (I know were getting personal here...)
