I just love the way you think. Shelling in the water -- "it feels like a video game to me!" That sunrise was stunning! And when it was over, you consoled yourself, "but now I can see the seashells much better." I admit, I tend to charge into the water when there are dolphins. Never really thought twice about it, but next time I'll hear your voice, "I don't want to be knocked over by an 800 pound dolphin, thank you very much!" And thank YOU very much for taking me along on another beautiful shell-filled beach walk.

My mom found Sanibel in a 1/16 page ad in a magazine in the late 80s. We’ve gone for thanksgiving most years since. Love this place, reminds of simpler days. Back then you could spend 8 hours on the beach and see maybe 10 elderly couples shell hunting.

If that's an option for you (and you're not doing it already), I hope you'll give it a try. I know you want to do everything for him yourself, familiar with that feeling, but if your health breaks down because of exhaustion, that's no good either. Sorry.. I know I'm jumping in with advice when I know nothing about your situation... but I'm concerned about you (and about your DH as well, of course). That was a great walk and a beautiful sunrise! Nice to see the hotel ready to reopen, too, and the beach work that has been done! Lots of good finds, as usual! You know, the reason I don't learn the latin names are because I have no idea how to pronounce them--same with botanical names! Maybe we should start with some easier ones, like the nauticas/naticas or the cones!

The only reason I'm interested in the scientific names is they don't change from region to region. Some of these shells are called different things in different areas and it makes it confusing. The scientific name is the same no matter where you find the shell or critter. I'm more of a relaxed type of gal, but there is an appeal there for me to learn at least a few of those scientific names 😌

Well now I know about Alpenglow! The pink on the sand I saw was merely a reflection off the clouds. Gosh it was pretty though.

Oh My Goshes, Shar!! What a stunning sunrise,.. and at my old stooping grounds too!! How I miss those! You were given such a gorgeous day. You had your fill of Apple Murex, all of them beautiful. It does my heart good to hear that Sanibel is busy once again. They did a great job "reflooring" the beach. I wanted to ask you about the turtle nests. Were you there when the babies went into the gulf?... or am I confusing that with a different beach? Ohhh and I loved the sneak peek! Was that a Sea Snail? A Scaphella Junonia? I'm very excited to see that beach trip. Thank you so much for taking me along. I enjoyed it very much!! Until next Sunday my beautiful beach friend. See you then. ❤

I have only seen one little baby turtle make its way into the ocean over here on the Gulf Coast. Turtle season down here is April thru October so maybe this year I'll get to see more babies. And yes, I finally found my first whole junonia! I can't wait to share!
