I do not mourn Sanguinius. I honour him. He was, in life, an example of all that we should strive to be. In death, he was an example of how we ourselves should pass from this life, fighting for what we believe in and compelled even if we know we are to perish in that fight to give our last full measure of devotion. He showed us how to live and how to die. So no, I do not waste my tears on him but lift my voice in praise of a most excellent Human and Primarch. My tears are for those who shrink in the face of duty and never know the sweetness of glory or the limits of their potential.

The emperor will protect you too, brother. We all strive to be close in ideal to Sanguinius and yet even the angel, most stalwart and selfless of humanity's protectors, had moments of weakness. Moments in which the darkness took hold and seemed to swallow all light in his heart. In these desperate days of humanity, each setback, each disaster or catastrophe or act of reckless hatred seems like naught but another nail in the coffin of the faithful. It destroys us, grinds us down into separate fragments that each cannot survive in their sea of loneliness. And yet, I tell you. And yet each and every time Sanguinius, our angel, YOUR angel, battled his way out of the dark void below and rose above his darkness. He rose above the petty, above the hateful, above the evil that so desperately tried to snuff him from this world and thus became MORE than just the Emperor's child. He rose and became human. For it is not his godlike form, his strength or his prowess that made him into what he was. It is not the battles he won, nor the foes he slew that turned him into a symbol of humanity's potential. It was his compassion. His willpower. And his Hope. And even now, millennia from his death, he looks at us with hope in his eyes. He looks at you, brother. He looks and sees what you can be, what you WILL be, if only you so choose. He sees your potential and he does not cast judgement for your weakness. Instead, he commends the strength you possess for having made it this far already. In His vision, you are a human. A being with the potential of a god. The potential to choose. I tried to get her to join me, without telling her who I am. After a lengthy descussion about her and in nothing in particular, she refused. I had wanted her to join... I knew that look, for I had worn it. I knew the crushing misery of where she sat, for I too many times have sat there. But she said 'No'. So I gave her a bottle of amasec and a full pack of lho's and told her, 'The Emperor Protects'. And I told myself that I can't save them all. I can't help but feel I failed her.

Nah mate Christmas is just the past version of Sanguinala. For the love and peace of sanguinius is so strong that it ecos through time. Humanity has always tried to celebrate that time. But up until now we know it to be Sanguinala
