When you are fighting something who has the skin harder than a thick boulder it actually make sense, the katanas wasn't made to cut rocks. (Of course, they're Nichirin, but It's still a great damage to the blade to take.)

All of them being brutalized by demons, your own mother having been turned into one of them killing practically your entire family. If they can overcome something like this, then why not your mother, why did your own mother lose her own mind to the demons? Was she “too weak?” Think about it.

I always found this fight great because they are somewhat opposites in terms of personality and breathing. Giyu is so reserved and tranquil, whilst Sanemi is aggressive and wild. The way Giyu uses water breathing is very controlled and mainly defensive, whilst Wind breathing is hyper offense and involves lots of movement. I know Sanemi is stronger, but i think he would have a really hard time breaking Giyus defense.

Sanemi 😌 is a whole new mood ❤❤❤ love him more

Pretty sure giyuu doesn't even train during the hashira training arc and I think he also said during the arc he doesn't usually train yet he still show relativity in strength to sanemi has very good endurance supporting the other hashira depsite having a hole through his belly and slowly losing his arm and he also is the last hashira standing when demon king tanjiro appears so yes sanemi might be stronger but it's not by a lot giyuu isn't aggressive so of course sanemi does more damage because he doesn't defend at all while water breathing is more balanced and akaza even said that giyuu is the strongest person he's fought in the past 50 years he said"I haven't fought someone good in 50 years" meaning rengoku in akaza's eyes is trash in comparison to giyuu he even says rengoku wouldn't have gotten stronger as a human(yes I know the training is called hashira training not just the hashira's training

Giyu did train during the arc. He didn’t participate in the slayers training because he skipped out on the planning, but he himself still trained by himself and with other hashira The only hashira that completely skipped out on training was Shinobu, who was busy working with Tamayo

I just realized that giyuu might have misunderstood sanemi when he said "you are just like the rest of us." Can you imagine if giyuu thinks that sanemi was trying to comfort him? Heh

They're equal. In a 1v1 no one knows who would win. But as a demon slayer, Sanemi is stronger. That's why Sanemi is considered to be the 2nd strongest and Giyuu 3rd

@@miissi7109 Sanemi is widely known as the 2nd strongest hashira as seen in his fight against Upper rank 1, and the swords only broke so easily because they were wooden practice swords

@@PrincessMichaelJ yes he did fight kokushibo but he litterly didn't do anything alone and was about to die because of one attack on the other hand giyuu was able to fight akaza and go trading blowes so that means he was equal to him for some time Sanemi was considered the 2# hashira in the past when there wasn't a lot to scale about and we were only on the surface but now it changed alot like giyuu was weaker than rengoku and now he is stronger than iguro and you can find many people who says shinobu isn't the weakest etc .....

No, because Sanemi doesn’t know about Giyu’s inferiority complex. He’s under the assumption that Giyu feels superior to the other hashira, so he says that to try and take him down a peg (tho since Giyu doesn’t actually believe he’s better then the others, it failed to have the intended effect

You know that meme about blaming superboy? Imagine Sanemi saying that about Tanjiro and Giyuu.
