A visit to The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft on 24th July for The Gathering Preview and The full Gathering Event the following day. Although I had planned to attend both days I was bitterly disappointed that I was unable to attend on the Sunday but I am sure it would have been every bit as good as the Saturday, If not better. The Saturday had a variety of Trolleybuses giving rides to visitors in glorious sunshine, I only hope that the weather was as good on the Sunday. Many Thanks to everyone at The Trolleybus Museum for a great event. I Cant wait to come back again.

Jimmy Walker Yes it was a Glasgow Trolley. Unfortunately it didn't run that day

Tram systems in the UK seem to be returning here and there in recent years. I wonder why we haven't had the return of the trolleybus though? A trolleybus system must be alot cheaper to install than a tram system as you don't need to dig up the roads for the tracks. A double deck trolleybus could carry a fair number of passengers too and if it were able to run "off the wire" when required for short periods using batteries it'd be a lot more flexible than a tram
