I love season 2 even better than season 1. Ben Lloyd-Hughes is a perfect choice for Colbourne, and his chemistry with Rose Williams is amazing. Sydney was a great character but Colbourne seems a better fit for Charlotte and I love her with his girls as well. Ready for Season 3!

I believe the audience also loved every second of season 2.

Maybe it's just me, but now I feel that, nobody can replace Sidney in this series. I can't feel that passion and chemistry what I've seen before between Charlotte and Sidney.

Exactly!! The charm is gone! They should have recasted Sidney - I honestly believe that would have been the best decision.

@@myran788 I watched the first episode of S2 thought it was great.👍But lets just be real some people would be griping if another actor got recasted for Sidney. So it kinda just had to start like that.💔

I’m usually one of those people when it comes to recasting characters, but in this particular case I do believe a recast would have been preferred. Just because the first season was so great and was all about Sidney and Charlottes love. When everyone thought it was cancelled even the writers said that they planned for a happy ending for Sidlotte. With them together that is 😂.. So with that said I think the majority of fans would have preferred their story to be continued. But a few of “us” would probably picked the new Sidney apart ;) Edit: I just watched the 1st ep myself and nope its not Sanditon anymore. For me its a brand new show starting on season 1 ;) Its really not the same even though many of the same characters are in it again. It doesnt have the same Jane Austen charm like season 1 had. Found myself dreaming away thinking of plotlines of how they would have wrapped this story originally. LOL! A bit pathetic, I know haha I might continue to watch it if Im able to continue to think of it as a new show.. Might enjoy it a bit.

I don't know what they are going to do with Georgianna and Arthur in S3 - but I would like to see the true romance and affection between them with happy ending in S3. I am sure these actors could manage to act it!

I thought I wouldn’t be able to bear the departure of Sydney but I’m actually okay with it. Not all love stories are meant for happy ending as Theo James said. Remember, only Mary, Georgianna and Alison were aware of Sydney and Charlotte’s romance. Charlotte cannot grieve openly because as she said it so well “he has a widow, and it was not her place to grieve”. In those times she might have looked like a mistress if she did so. She also said to her sister Alison that she is determined to remain unmarried and an independent strong woman despite society’s expectations. Therefore, I think the lack of chemistry by the producers is well intended. Throughout the season we will discover more about Sydney’s affair in Antigua. Isn’t it kind of strange that he left his newlywed wife to attend some “affairs” only after 6 months of marriage???!!! We may yet still be surprise. Anyway, I’m still on board with the show but more than Sydney I actually miss Young Stringer 😢…

Theo James, I will never forgive you.

Out of all the possible suitors for Miss Charlotte in Season 2, Episode 1, in my personal opinion, I really thought that the farmer Ralph was by far the most handsome. I do hope that the writers find a way to properly introduce him, and bring Miss Charlotte and the farmer Ralph together again in the near future. Also, I thought that the writers didn't show Miss Charlotte genuinely grieve the loss of Sidney enough. They deeply loved each other with a real soulmate connection, regardless of the circumstances which kept them apart.

1. Writers in any show try to skip people dealing with grief. It's on a par of people being happy, 's there's no drama. and 2. she can't publiclly grieve him. She even says so in episode one, though Lady D is episode 2 does manage to make a jibe to Esther about it.

tired of seeing theo james comments. i never liked sydney. glad he is gone. the new actor seems fine.

@@Ann-ub4mf people miss sydney because the actor was good looking , a 10 in looks. sydney was one of the worst characters in Sanditon. i dont see a difference in him and ester's brother. they both wanted rich women and money. sydney is worse because he thinks he is righteous and superior. people dont like the new actor because he is much less good looking than theo james. thats the truth because he seems to be a nice character, for now, at least in the trailers.
