SAND- why I'm returning the Mac sports xl folding wagon

Спорт

unfortunately it doesn't really work in normal beach sand as the website says. it just drags through sand and doesn't roll. I'll have to get something with balloon tires I suppose. probably would be a good wagon on hard surfaces.
manufacturer description-
With larger (8 diameter) treaded wheels, this wagon can also withstand a larger load (300 lbs) across various surfaces including dirt, grass, mud, gravel, sand and the like, without tipping over.

With all due respect, the video shows the wheels rolling through the sand. May not be as smoothly like the beach wheels as we want, but I didn’t notice it drag. Thank you for sharing.

These types of wagons with 4 inch wide tires will perform better than the ones with narrow tires, but having said that, balloon tires are going to be way better because they're usually much bigger, such as 12 inches in diameter instead of 7. Balloon tires are also smooth and wide so that they either roll or glide on the sand. Balloon tires are pricey so consider a 2 wheel cart instead if you don't frequent the beach.

Hate to say this but, it’s the equivalent of wearing sporty dress shoes to play on a basketball court and wondering why you can’t get a grip while playing. It’s soft sand, there’s weight. Don’t blame the wagon, blame the sand. Might have to find a better beach with firmer sand. My Dodge Charger car has Firehawk GT rally tires. It will still struggle in soft sand. Lol Sand was not designed to conform for easability .

I was going to ask which model is this cuz it looks like the tire actually has more tread on it then the ones they currently have which looks like a big plastic wheel and looks kind of smooth. I say look cuz I know pic can be deceptive. I know the wagon is heavy already, but there must be some way to engineer it have wheels with treads that has some grip on them and not weigh 26lb’ish. Lol I’m still gonna get one anyway.

You are absolutely correct. I have the Mac Sports Beach Wagon with the fat tires. It's great on hard packed sand and other hard services, torture on soft sand. There is so much resistance that the front wheels come off the ground when I pull it, no matter how I distribute the weight. Other than that it's great.

Fat tires are better for sand than skinny tires....but I've long waited for a push-button motorized "on-demand-drive function for a foldable wagon... for best results on sand. Price will be hefty....but i might pay for that.

That's nothing. I'm 265lbs and I have load limit on this thing doing over 200lbs with all kind stuff and I had to drag it in that type of sand for 1/8 of a mile and I did stop 4 to 5 times and I'm telling you the drag was enough to leave trails. The wheel sunk in half way at times. Did it all for the kiddos and what did the wife do nothing but carry her sorry ass 😂

Not related to sand: back wheels are stupidly designed. They should be flipped 180 degrees. Otherwise they're just asking to break the first time they hit something.

I pack ~220lbs in equipment and it works perfect. It's better than anything I've ever used to pull in sand. This is for both coarse and fine grade. My wife can even pull lighter loads without much effort. This is a YOU problem, not a QUALITY problem. You sound like you need an ATV.

@@ScubaChris Pulling a child and equipment should be no problem for anyone strong enough. The wagon works fine with the appropriate strength. It's like advertising a 300lb weight set and complaining about the manufacturer because you can't bench press 300lbs. You're still able to use it but your body limits the capacity in which you can utilize the product.
