This is part four of our series to Sand Mountain Nevada. There was a checklist that I wanted to complete while we were out here at Sand Mountain Recreation Area during the Halloween 2020 weekend.

2. Ride the Dunes - On this ride I brought along my friend Jake who has never ridden out in the sand dunes. Then we watch our other friend Jake popping wheelies in his rzr near comp hill.
3. Visit Vendor Row - A great place to grab some dune swag and lunch.
4. Have Lunch at Comp Hill- There is nothing like eating lunch and watching the sand drags.
5. Find the Dirt Bikes - I always try to find the dirt bike groups. You know that they are usually putting on a good show jumping the sand dunes.
After the list was complete we gathered around camp and reflected on the week we had. Passed candy out to the little trick or treaters and watched the fireworks show that was taking place up on comp hill. The next morning was a hectic day of stuck truck and rv's. All of us pitched in to get each other out and some folks we didn't even know swung into save the day. Thanks All can't wait to do this again.

The 4,795 acre Sand Mountain Recreation Area is a designated OHV fee site located in the high desert of west central Nevada twenty-five miles south east of Fallon on U.S. 50. Created by the migration and deposition of windblown sand as it is stopped by the rising Stillwater Mountains bordering to the north, east and west, the most dominant feature of the dune system is Sand Mountain which is approximately 3.5 miles long, 1 mile wide and 600 feet in height, making it the largest single dune in the Great Basin.
