Sanctuary of Truth Pattaya Tour (4K)
Tour the inside and the grounds of the amazing Sanctuary of Truth temple in Pattaya Thailand. We were fortunate enough to visit this attraction, called ปราสาทสัจธรรม Prasat Sajja Tham in Thai, during our March 2018 Asia Cruise aboard the Majestic Princess cruise ship. The ride from the Laem Chabang cruise port was about 45 minutes. We had to change US dollars to Thai Baht to pay for the admissions of Sanctuary of Truth as they did not take credit card. It was 500 Baht for adults (~$16) and 250 for kids. Children under 120 cm (~3 foot 11 inch) get in for free. It is open from 8 AM to 6 PM.
There is a dress code for women- you could not show your knees. But you can rent out coverings for free, though a deposit of 200 Baht (~$6.50 USD) is required.
Overall we enjoyed our visit- the carvings were intricate and amazing. The walls, the statues, both inside and outside the temple were lovingly crafted. It was also really fun to feed an elephant up close! That was 100 Baht (~$3.25 USD). You can also get an elephant ride as well for 800 baht (~$26 USD).
When you visit, be sure to bring and drink plenty of cold water as it is HOT there. If you can, get there earlier in the morning so the heat isn't as bad. There were restaurants at the site offering both local Thai cuisine or Western food.

I've been here personally, the old man lives just around the corner from the sanctuary. It is a beautiful building! Only thing is the scaffolding is bamboo yet the tourist complain that it isn't safe to work from even though they have worked this way for 100's of years lol

The workshop next door is pretty cool also. You get to watch the artists/builders as they work and they are all friendly to talk to. Apparently where it takes so long to go through and replace each piece as new. Once finished, they start all over again. I believe I was told it takes 30+ years to replace whole building. Don't quote me on that though, it may be much longer?

Thank you! It was a 14 day Asia cruise that started in Singapore & ended in Shanghai. We also visited Ho Chi Minh city, Hong Kong, Busan Korea & Nagasaki Japan. Sadly due to the strict pandemic restrictions in China, you probably won't see this itinerary for a while.

The Strider9 I was just there a few weeks ago and took hundreds of pictures. The hardest thing is to get pictures without all the other people in them and also when to stop. There is so much to take pictures of. Other than the floors, just about every inch has an amazing carving on it.
