Wonderful tour, we learned we need to seek out more food spots in SF. When was this video made?

I remember playing in Washington Square ask a kid. We lived in an apartment on the top of Grant. I attended Garfield and would sneek into Coit Tower with the tourists after school! Mama's, US Cafe and Little Joe's were places my mom would take us. The smells of roasting coffee beans from the cafe's ( pre Starbucks ) have turned my into an espresso addict as an adult!

Flat out false. All of these places are still open except for the Washbag. Victoria Pastry has moved to Filbert Street. I was in Little City meats a couple of days ago. North Beach resident for 23 years.

@@happyfunball3266 lol. I posted that 2 years ago, mid pandemic. They were closed then, but have since then reopened. Consider reading dates before replying to comments.

Grace Ann is dead now . During the Iraq war she said horrible things about the Troops. How do I know ,she spouted off to me . I wore my son's picture in a brooch while he was in the USMC deployed to Iraq. She was a real B@*!!! She was very unpopular in NB. A bar tender told her apologize to military families or stay out. I have her written BS apology. She is gone now, oh well. MRS A long time resident of North Beach

I grew up and hung out at many of these venues. Grew up in a Nobe kitchen. But Since this video in 2014, things have changed a lot in SF and nobeach. Extremely. The landscape is basically the same, but city hall and many younger newbies have tried to make it into their vision. They forgot about the respect for tradition part. In the process, they have eroded the original native immigrant pioneering spirit. And the true SF charisma. Careful if you visit, lest you step in some human feces or on a needle. It’s not even close to how great it once was. Why? Because I know and have seen the demise. I was born there in 1949. Lived there thru the 60$ & 70$. Family was pioneering and lived in thru 2019. Since newsome and Harris were in office, it’s been on a downward ugly negative fall. It’s obvious. Not even close to the cities former majesty and pride. I sold all SF property and moved away. I no longer call it my home town because it’s now officially a shthole to the native born that know the difference. Thanks for ruining it kids. You have no idea what your selfish entitlement has done to SF. Enjoy it while you can still afford it because it will only get worse. It’s inevitable. Good luck. ✌️👍🏼

There are no needles or feces in North Beach. The park workers work very hard to keep it clean. They clean at 6AM. again at 11AM, 3PM and last at 7PM. The park is the same, however most other things have changed .I have the greatest respect for the overlooked park workers. When I die I don't want a plot .Do what you want with my ashes , but plant a tree in Washington Sq.I will always love that park and those who work so hard to keep it lovely.
