I was walking the golden gate bridge in 2020 watching someone kite just like you under the bridge, and I told myself I need to learn how to do that. That summer I learned and have been kiteboarding and kite foiling since. Love this sport. This video was great

Pretty mellow day there, back in the 90s I windsurfed just outside the bridge many a day in 10-20 foot swells on massive ebb tides, my heart in my throat and all my senses buzzing full tilt, if you went down on a jibe it would sweep you out very quickly while you could barely re-fly the sail against the force of the current. Now I have been living and kiting in Baja since 2018 and next time I get a chance I'm coming back to Crissy to kite it. Years of windsurfing at Crissy gave me a bad case of surfers ear but when kiting I rarely even get my hair wet, a much more relaxed experience yet even more fun!

Awesome! I thought about kiting there when we were in SF in 2018…but could not find someone who goes with ne with a jetski or boat…conditions can be tough out there…quite gusty and wavy especially with a big container ship passing… However…it remains a dream to kite there one day…🏄🏽♂️😎🌊

Really ironic that the video ends with the song saying that people believe that 'a great occasion is somehow spoiled unless photographed'. Still tho great video, great song, and sure looks like a great occasion!

Lovely to watch those kiteboarders under the bridge but does anyone remember the guy who placed the go-pro in his canopy, looking, down, then when he got home he reviewed the footage?

the wind shadow from the bridge is not that bad
