How's the haitians holding up out there?

I spent most of my adult life in and around San Diego, and you got remarkably close to one or two places where I used to live. I'm better now. But even the bad areas of San Diego aren't too bad compared to other larger cities, and it's usually 72 and sunny so it never really feels that bad. For those who don't know, pay close attention to the palm trees. Over time the fronds die and hang down around the trunk. Eventually rats move in, so don't rent an apartment near an unkempt palm tree.

I'm a fourth generation san diego native and I'm 53 , I have been back and fourth from Brazil for 35 years ; believe me when I say rocinha in Brazil makes anything here look like Disneyland.

San Diego is the safest big city in the US. California's overall crime rate has gone down since the 90s and early 2000s and as a local I would say that's contributing to the high rent/home prices. A house in San Diego's worst neighborhoods is still close to 500k.

San Jose , and NYC are safer than San Diego ( San -Diego CITY) in terms of big cities. Do your fucking research. Its safer than DC and San Fran in terms of cities half its size in population /small cities

A place like San Diego, it probably doesn't matter as much. The weather is always some version of nice in San Diego at any month.

8:55 no, the stop sign says Redwood and Collura which is in Oak Park East of City Heights. Funny you would confuse the hood with Point Loma...it says SD's poorest neighborhoods are still pretty nice.

@@marcosrojas380 There is not a heavy presence of hatians in city heights at all. What you see in city heights is Somali, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Eritrean, and Somali bantu. There is only like 1 family of hatians in SD. If that.

I’m embarrassed that this is my home city. The horrible roads, the graffiti, old run down homes and buildings.

Keep in mind. This video was shot in a nice neighborhood in one part of San Diego. I don't know why the dude who shot this thinks Oak Park is hood. San Diego doesn't have projects like back east but it's got rough hoods. Any city in the US has nice and bad areas.

@@nyckidd6004 To name a few...Mountain View, Logan Heights, Mount Hope, Grant Hill and parts of East San Diego. National City and other parts of the South Bay have some rough neighborhoods. Oceanside in North County has some rough neighborhoods. Things are changing. Some of the notorious neighborhoods are being gentrified - Logan Heights, Sherman Heights, Mountain View. Just because there are not projects does not mean a neighborhood is bad. You gotta be naive if you believe that. Same thing goes on in those neighborhoods...gang activity, drug activity, pimpin, gambling, homless folks...
