If Risacher isn’t available at 4 then I don’t want anything other than a pg at that pick. Anything else can wait till 8

Although Vic is a gifted big shooter, I don't think he is efficient enough to draft Clingon and bump Wemby to the 4 spot. Vic shined on both ends of the floor when he moved to the 5.

Clingan matches up well against the more physical big who can bully Wemby. He is better than Sarr in this regard.

I apologize to Rudy, it was Jack Thompson who gave the most Causal take. Why would the Spurs waste an opportunity to get more franchise players? Just to get eliminated in the playoffs/play-in. That was so casual😂😂😂

If the Spurs are thinking of picking Clingan, IMHO they would be well served to take Zach Edey instead. Edey is bigger, longer, quicker, faster, a better shooter, a better passer, has better hands and is just essentially a better and more skilled basketball player than Donovan Clingan. He is by far the most dominant, physically imposing player in the 2024 NBA draft! If you believe that Donovan Clingan is massive, look at Zach who (per the 2024 NBA draft combine) is 7-foot 3.75 inches barefoot and weighs 299 pounds. He dwarfs Donovan in every way. His wingspan is only an inch and a quarter shorter than Wemby’s, he is only ¼ inch shorter than Big Vic and of course he is much stronger. Zach won the national collegiate player of the year both in 2023 and 2024, finishing above every other player in American collegiate basketball (obviously, including Donovan Clingan) two years running. He thoroughly outplayed Clingan when Purdue and UConn played each other. He kicked *** at the combine too, with a significantly better showing than Clingan in all measurables except standing reach, which was, strangely enough, identical. Why can't people see this? A truly massive (300 plus pound) big man has not had his touch and feel around the basket since Shaq or Yao Ming. He is actually taller and longer than Shaq. Draft the best, most dominant player in American college basketball two years running in the lottery? May it never be! The Spurs having two 7-foot 4-inch super long players on the court at the same time or having one seven-foot 4 inch super long player on the court at all times? Who has ever heard of such a thing? Huge and skilled basketball players like Zach are very rare! Like Wemby, Edey is a generational talent. Spurs, draft Zach and we will have twin towers 2.0 with an NBA dominating front line for the next 15 years!!!

Clingan is quicker than Edey. As much as I like his size Edey will get beat by quick guards where Clingan has a better chance to recover

@@Lab-Rat Not according to the results at the 2024 NBA draft combine, in which Edey beat Clingan in every speed, quickness and leaping measurable. Edey is quicker and faster than Clingan. In the lane agility test Edey measured 11.19 and Clingan measured 12.06; Edey ran the shuttle run in 3.01 seconds and Clingan in 3.38 seconds. Edey ran the 3/4 court sprint in 3.42 seconds and Clingan in 3.46 seconds; Edey’s standing vertical leap measured 26 inches and Clingan measured 25.5 inches; In their maximum vertical leap, Edey measured 31.5 inches and Clingan only 29 inches; According to the combine results, which are impartial, objective empirical scientific measurements of all the players’ measurables, Edey is objectively better in every way than Clingan.
